PrintOkay I have to say that I was EXTREMELY disappointed in Jeff Reed today. Seriously Skippy? That's the best your going to do at....dare I say....Tackle?....WTF? Dude it's not two hand touch. Get in his way...make him run you over...do something!!! After I got hear about your dumbass all week for some dumb crap you got into on Monday night...this is what you show Tomlin, Colbert and the Rooneys why they should consider paying you more to stay???
Can Sepulveda kick off? At least he'd attempt to tackle.
Seriously Skippy have a great life beating up paper towel dispensers in another city. You're done in Pitt after the season.

I agree that his behavior has been crap and needs to get turned around – however, besides a rough game this season, he has been big time money for us in tight spots including playoffs from long range for years. No one is irreplaceable, but we should consider carefully.
Also, if the returner gets that far, the problem is mostly our lame coverage…

You dont want your kicker in harms way
If he had got injured on that play and made the tackle and the game comes down to a field goal we’ed b complaing the same, just like BB shouldnt b out there throwing blocks on reverses, u dont want to see him blow out a shoulder
I understand but a little more effort in the tackle would have been nice

Arguably...
The problem may not exist if we have a kicker who can get the ball past the 10 yard line.
But I dont fault Skippy really. If David Johnson just turned around right after he probably could have caught him and instead was running blindly not looking backwards at all.
Reed=Favre=tackles
Favre must be contracted NOT to tackle because his efforts cost them big time as far as that goes. I thought he was an iron man.
You might be too young to remember
But, in Super Bowl X, Roy Gerela cracked his ribs making a tackle, rendering him pretty much useless for the rest of the game.
Although this happened in the 4th quarter, I really wouldn’t want to see Skippy out for 4 weeks because of cracked ribs.
Fact is, when you are counting on your kicker making a tackle on a run back, you have much more serious problems…
