Holmes and Gas
The thing Holmes does when he flexes his arm to show muscle bothers me. I don't know why, but to me it smells of individuality. I always felt the steelers greatest strength was team work. I'm sure we all will give Holmes a pass because of his super bowl catch, but I notice every game I watch, Holmes drops a few balls here and there. I wish he would stop the ego thing and start catching the ball more often.
My other concern is what is going on with the steel curtain in the 4th quarter. Are they running out of gas? Maybe they need to run a few extra laps because they seem to lose the edge and energy they have in the first half by the 4th quarter. Thank goodness for a few breaks against the vikes, but we need the steeler D of 2008-2009 season to compliment the new passing attack or we need to run more to let the D get more rest.

I think its his personal business if you ask me.

You Made my point
It is about him…personal…not about the team.

Um...
did you even watch the game today? They absolutely turned on the gas in the 4th. Well, closer to the end of the 4th, but still…

They drove
The vikes drove down the field twice in the 4th. Did you watch the game? Granted, a ball bounces off one player and a fumble were terrific turn arounds, but for the vikes to be able to drive the field twice is a concern. I would rather them stop them dead cold without any first downs than to drive the length of the filed and have the vikes make two mistake to end the drive.
check the drive log in yahoo sports….

They took advantage of opportunities when they showed up
and won us the game. Seriously, what more can you ask for out of a defense that was on the field almost 37 minutes of a 60 minute game?

Yep
As great as huge defensive turnover TDs are…the problem is it puts your defense right back on the field. They were definitely getting tired. The offense did them no favors by only eating up 3 minutes or so of clock after the Harvin return.
The defense bent but did not break. Long drives and chunks of yards mean nothing if you do not come away with points.

Also
if you read/heard Fox’s comments about the runback “I had just got done chasing down Harvin, I thought I was done at the 40”. They were all worn out, and still ran an escort 87 yards with Fox! Damn I’m proud to be a Steeler fan!!!

My suggestion Steve
Become a part of this community before posting a lame bitchy posting about minor crap after a good win.

Horrible redundancy - posting, posting
My bad. I hate being redundant, repeating myself, saying the same thing over and over again.

idiot
I always look at the steelers with a critical eye and I’m sure those drives that the vikes put on the D before two mistakes will be looked at by the coach as well. Stop them dead in their tracks before they get down to the red zone…that is what I want.
By the way woldtrip….f..k you.

Longer than your age
I have probably been part of the steelers community longer than your age,,,dip shit. If you can’t stand some constructive criticism than you are probably as big of a loser than your remarks are.

Petty namecalling is unnecessary and not needed here.
That goes for both of you.

I think it's time MR. Holmes got a Talking to by Joe Green
As he said to Rod Woodson after he was haming it up on his way to score “We don’t DO that around here”
"Polamalu’s lineage can be traced through several roots. Chuck Norris mated with an Amazon Queen, and on the other side, Tony Hawk mated with Mother Nature. The two children of these spawned and fused in a tantric love session to create Troy Polamalu. The mother however died as he tore through the birth canal with a spin move."

Joe Green might introduce him to the ’70’s work ethic and put him on roids : )

my beef
with Santonio is the way he doesnt protect the ball when he is running, has he not ever seen what happens when you hold the ball way outside of your body while running through traffic. On his long run yesterday, I was sure he was going to have it stripped, IMO he just got lucky someone didnt hit his arm.

Sanonio's recent attitude
Mr Holmes does seem to be heading down that all to familiar attitude path that made Plex what he is today. Between the one handed “serve the ball on a silver platter” run that IndianaSteelers describes well, and his three seperate times in one game “pumping his minimal bicep (small in the NFL)”, a path seems obvious. These all “look good” to some crowd of admirers, but in truth he has not lived to reasonable expectations this season, and yet he is just full of himself. It seems he is primed for bigger explosions that will have deeper ramifications than just numerous inexplicable drops.
Celebrations and attitude, to a point, are important, but it is a fine line often difficult to explain to some while obvious to others. Hines and Jerome have shwon these done well, even if they have pushed the line on rare occasion. But Santonio has now pushed well over that line that can divide young “one time” greats from seeing the longevity of those guys, though they may have the potential. I hope this early season’s start either breaks by his own recognition, or with the help and guidance of those with more experience, because I do not believe it can continue without an ugly fall.
As it stands now, I hope Tomlin doesn’t depend too heavily on him, and perhaps finds some time to talk to him and re-motivate him into a confident team player, not an insecure maverick. He is a hell of a player, and it would be sad for all of us not to be able to enjoy that for a long time.
