whiners at daily norseman!!!

Editor's Note: Title changed by me. No need for the crass name-calling really, even though I don't disagree with the general sentiment. Let's keep it clean and not give other fanbases ammunition to perceive us poorly with. Thanks. - Blitz (Michael B.) -

Jesus....i've never seen more people try to blame a loss on a ref's call!!!  Jesus...tripping is when you stick your legs out and trip the opposition....which is what happened!  Lol!  They never reall acknowledge the 2 pick sixes that father time threw.  Come on Daily Norseman.....you lost...fair and square.....DEAL.  Nah....they would rather cry about a blown call....which wasn't really blown at all. Everyone say it with me now......waaaaaahaaaaaaaa!!!

You guys played a good game, and we love your coach—he did wonders for our D in Minn.

It’s always annoying when a debatable yellow flag changes the entire momentum. Yes, it’s frustrating, but Steeler fans have been through the same thing – I know because, growing up in Butler, I have plenty of them in my family.

On behalf of the good folks in Minnesota, I apologize if our comments have been overly excessive or seem “whiny” – it was just a really tough way to lose a game.

Unnecessary

Seriously, this kind of crap is unneeded. Everybody points fingers when they lose, that’s why this is the internet, man. People need to vent their spleens, or would you rather them go smash their cars into a bus load of Cub Scouts? Let it go.

Yeah, we have some losers over at the Norse sometimes – when it’s all said and done, we lost, whether it was a fluke or whether it wasn’t, Steel City prevailed.

At least we didn’t “NEED” the win as badly as you all, especially after the Bengels flew high for the late game.

Hope your injuries aren’t too bad, and it was nice to play against you at your full strength (the Bears took advantage of a weakened secondary a few weeks ago – you guys should have won that game…)

I was just curious what the general consensus was at BTSC on that penalty

Who did you mean?

A Steeler fan cannot be a troll on his own board, can he?

Their was certainly a trip, what is debatable is whether or not it was intentional. I tend to think that it was not intentional and more or an accident from falling down, but in full speed split second decision, I don’t know if you could fault the ref. He sees legs in the air and a player tripping over them and tosses the flag.

I agree with cdsumm

The Vikings fans are sore losers and cry babies. We had a pass interference call on Miller that was terrible that took points off the board. Fox was mugged on the kick return and they got a touchdown out of it. Brett Farve and Chester Taylor cost Minnesota the game. It had nothing to do with the officiating……

Lets be honest

The tripping wasnt a great call. I personally felt it was kinda understandable, though not entirely accurate.

But where I found it ok was this, if he doesnt dive to the side, he does a cheap ass low block on a guys knees. I almost feel like he was trying not to do that, and then just flared the legs out to cover his ass.

But lets also not forget we had a TD taken away too on a foul committed on the complete opposite side of the play. So theres that.

Blame the Vike’s O-line for false starting every drive if that means anything.

+1

You Vikes fans have an argument about the call but we also had a weak call take away a TD. In the end, the game was played, won and lost on the field. Steelers won, Vikings lost and we move on…

just saw it again

I just saw it again on NFL network and it was a trip the whole way, at first I thought it was an accident and just part of falling down, be he whiffed on his cut block so he very intentionally tried to trip, no question about it.

by DarinS on Oct 26, 2009 12:28 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Dugan half assed tried to trip after he whiffed on his block. The intent was there. Tougher team won.

Really?

I thought Steeler fans were classy! Well 99.999% of them are.

Steelers played it tough. It was a good game. Sadly the Vikes lost.

Now can anyone delete this whole thread?

If this thread were deleted we’d see the start of Communism as we know it.

by raven on Oct 26, 2009 12:32 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

or become a local government.

Yeah. Posts like this bother me. Calling other teams fans ‘whiny bitches" doesn’t sit well with me, especially if I am part of the fanbase.

though i doubt communism will rise if this thread is deleted.

I dunno...

Better “read” than “red”. Or something like that….

I like communism

Its great. Everybody gets a piece…

Anyway I also feel like pointing out, theres an amazing statistic, that usually the team that has the most people whining about the refs, also lost the turnover battle.

But those couldnt be related, right?

by Mechem on Oct 26, 2009 4:28 AM EDT up reply actions   1 recs

Study Stalin and Mao, Mechem my friend. They were mass murderers. (but according to their delusional defenders they created jobs) Communism while sterile on paper is an ugly abusive form of subjugation. Especially to over acheivers like us. How would you like to have to give raven a piece of everything you earn and own?

When You Run The Ball Good Things Happen

by 5020 on Oct 26, 2009 11:19 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Well... 2 threads with the same argument

So, I’ll just cut and paste here…

I just was watching the NFL Network and both Deion Sanders and Steve Mariucci completely agreed with the tripping call.

Maybe Mike Pereira will discuss this in this "Official Review" segment, who knows? But according to Deion and Mooch (neither one of which are afraid to call out the refs if they think it is a bad call) the tripping call was made becuase he kicked out his legs. WIthout that, it is a body block. But when he kicks out his legs as he goes down, it is a trip, and will be called every time.

As for the "Game changing fourth quarter" argument, I’m not a big fan. If something is a penalty in the first quarter, it needs to be a penalty in the fourth.

Oh, and by the way, feel free to protect your quarterback so he doesn’t get the ball stripped on the next play…

My point is that the refs did not wave off the touchdown and then give the ball to Pittsburgh at the spot of the foul. They gave it back to the Vikings who then failed to pass protect and lost the ball. That is not the ref’s fault. Talk to your Offensive line.

If the Vikings had manafged to strip the ball after the "passing interference" call on Miller, and run it back for a TD, it would have been the same point swing.

But they didn’t. Instead, Pittsburgh converted a field goal and the Vikings lost the ball to the Pittsburgh defense and gave up seven.

The Vikings were beat by the Steelers — not the refs. If you are going to be a championship team, you need to learn to accept responsibility for your own actions.

Quit whining about it already. Your team is 6-1 with a real good shot at the playoffs.

Don't like the post

When I see someone making a complete hysterical jackass out of themselves in public, I don’t see the need to yell at everybody, “Look at the jackass! What a big jackass!” Especially in these parts where there’s been so much history of that type of behavior.

Even though it’s a bye week, let’s just get back to business.
