POLL BATTLE Round 2: (Wallace-Sweed-Lewis)
This is the 2nd round of the voting to see who BTSC readers vote as who would benefit the Steelers most by getting more playing time.
This is by far scientific, it's just for fun, and if you don't see your favorite player up here (I'm sorry, Burnett fans!) I wish I could help. :)
There's two polls, each containing 3 players that survived the last round. The top two vote getters from last round head up each poll, and rounded out with the other survivors. Their seedings ae listed in parenthesis to the right of their position.
POLL #1:
Evander "Ziggy" Hood - DE - (1). Ryan Mundy - FS - (4). Ra'Shon "Sunny" Harris - DE - (5).
Poll #2:
Mike Wallace - WR - (2). Limas Sweed - WR - (3). Keenan Lewis - CB - (6).
Breakdown of the overall voting from round one:
Hood (92), Wallace (84), Sweed (58), Mundy (48), Harris (35), Lewis (27), Bunrett (24), Foster (16), Urbik (15), Legursky (14), Bailey (8), Hills (2).
Section 1: This bracket saw Hood dominate Lewis and Bailey. Bailey mustered all of two votes...then goes out and give us a pick 6. Nice. :)
Section 2: A very close battle between Mundy and Harris, with Ramon Foster being the surprise player to me in the voting. 16 votes was impressive. Not sure if he would have gotten that if he had been in Hood or Wallace's bracket, but noonetheless, nice job.
Section 3: Sweed came back againstBurnett, who had led early. Legursky finished off the voting in this bracket with a respectable 14 votes.
Section 4: Wallace absolutely killed this bracket, taking 84 out of 101 total votes. Urbik, who I thought beforehand would have a higher vote total, finished with just 15, while Tony hills tllied all of 2 votes.

I don’t understand the voting for Mike Wallace. The only way the guy gets more playing time is if he supplants Hines or Tone as a starter.

Exactly
I think they want him to be a TE in the cinco package. You know, the one with 5 TE’s.

He seems like the only logical pick in this group to me. Mike Wallace is the 3rd WR already, Sweed…the poll is about playing time THIS season, Lewis gets my vote by default

Oops
Somehow I managed to translate mojo88’s “Mike Wallace” into Keenan Lewis. Just disregard my post above.

Okay, here's my point from the other vote...
I’m with mojo88 and Phantaskippy…..Wallace doesn’t belong here to me – he’s getting the time and can’t get any more right now.

When I set this up...
…I took the major players that had 2 years or less experience, and I included every major player that met that criteria. If I had not included everyone, I would have been following a flawed system from the beginning, and I would have been called out on the carpet. “If you’re including Tony Hills, or Doug Legursky, where is Wallace?” The only players I left off were players like Redman & Shipley, and that was about it.
My logic was less in the actual amount of time they were playing at the present moment, but rather which Steelers player listed would benefit the most from more playing time this season. (And, ultimately, benefit the Steelers in return).
I heard this same argument of including Wallace several times (although not very much, honestly) in the threads. I don’t think by “more” I mean for Wallace to supplant Hines or ‘Tone in the lineup. He’s already playing as much as he’s going to barring an injury to anyone above him, so that’s out. But, for the others, they would be looking at a slight increase in snaps, and that’s all.
As for Wallace not belonging here, he got voted in, and if enough people thought he didn’t belong, they could have voted for the other options, or not at all. When it was all said and done, he garnered the second most votes, just slightly under Ziggy Hood.
Hope that cleared up any of the ambiguity with Wallace being included.

Bad Bloggers
Really not sure how it would benefit the Steelers if Wallace played more…sit tonio or hines? Same with Sweed, sit Wallace? Plus, Sweed would drop more TD passes and cost us a game or 2. Keenean Lewis needs reps to figure out how to play and the Steelers need to replace Carter/Townsend/Ratliff ASAP.

58 no offence meant to you at all mate. I understand why you included him and it makes perfect sense. Apologies if it came across that way. Was more meant to the other bloggers who had voted for Wallace. Sorry bud
