An OVERRATED team

Hi guys, I'm a fan from the Daily Norseman, but I grew up in PA, love the Steelers in the AFC, and thought you'd enjoy this post...

I'm sure most of you don't pay much heed to the Power Rankings.  However, in this case, I have to stop the insanity...

I'm referring to our Purple counterparts in the state of Mary.

Yes, folks, I'm talking about none other than the team we will see in two weeks--the Baltimore Ravens.

Come on, now--obviously this team has improved, but to rank them higher than the likes of Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Drew Brees, and Brett Favre (all of whom have 3-0 records, BTW)?

Let's evaluate the teams Baltimore has faced...

  • Kansas City (0-3)---LOL, that's all I can say about that
  • San Diego (2-1)---Wow, the Ravens win against an OLD, OVERRATED team with a failing defense, a has-been RB--SD BARELY won against Oakland
  • Cleveland (0-3)---LOL again

Hmm, the Ravens have faced teams with a combined 2-7 record, the LOWEST of all of the 3-0 teams in the entire league.

Still think I'm chasing the wrong rabbit?  What do you all think?  I think they should be 5-6, at the highest.

i agree

that the Ravens are overrated by far… but it doesn’t make me feel any better that the only team we’ve beat so far is also 0-3

That's why this week's game is so big.............................

If we win, we go into the Vikings game at 4-2, at worst we go into the week off at 4-3. With a loss, we could b looking at 3-4 going into the week off. Not good. This is as big an early season game as we have faced in a while.

Somebody here

said it best by saying that Baltimore could be the best team in the league right now. It doesn’t mean it will stay that way but I agree with that individual. Baltimore has only lost to two teams since last October: Pittsburgh and NYG. They have a ways to go before they can be the champs but right now in October 2009 they are the best.

ravens are good

i don’t think their overrated, and if they are than they aren’t WAY overrated.
They are top 5 for sure, but I would have the Saints (yes the Saints) as #1

wheres Malor?

Who cares about power ratings

Power ratings mean absolutely zero, I am sure Baltimore could care less about them as well. Bottom line they beat the teams they were suppose to beat, we haven’t can’t blame them for that.

Let's look at the Ravens upcoming schedule

@NE, CIN, @MIN, DEN, @CIN. The Ravens have a very realistic shot at losing any of those games individually, and probably 2 or maybe even 3 of those overall if they’re unlucky. After week 7, heading into our bye, both us and the Ravens could be 5-2. All of this hinges on tomorrow, though. If BAL beats NE all bets are off.

The Ravens are the best team in football right now!

You have to five them their due. Any win in the NFL is important regardless off who you play. The impressive thing is how they are doing it. A good team will take control late and blow it open just as they have against KC late, Cleve from the first play, and SD late. How many blowout wins have we had in the last year?

All that matters is what happens in Feb.

If the Steelers arre going to go to the big game, we need to beat the Ravins. Plain and simple. Who cares who is ranked 1, 2, or 5.
