FIRST!!!
This is Pittsburgh Steeler Troy Polamalu getting knocked around by the Pacific Ocean in Hawaii yesterday...
Minutes later, Troy caught the ocean going over the middle and smacked it right in the mouth. The ocean fumbled, Troy recovered and ran it into the endzone. The ocean never messed with Troy again.

Holy ****
Rodney Harrison just called out his old QB. “Take the skirt off!”
As weird as it feels to say
the Ravens DID get ripped off big-time in NE.
I saw several weak-as calls. Every time Brady cried to a ref the Ravens got penalized within a play or two. Bullshit.
I actually feel bad for Baltimore this week.
Kinda….
It had to be said
Look at Brady jumping at pointing like a fucking girl. This is a contact sport you pussy. If you cant take the heat of a guy barely touching your leg get off the fucking field
Apologies for the f-bombs, but this is Football. That prima donna needs to get his hands dirty for a change

To his credit
I heard that Brady actually told the B-more guys he felt badly about getting that call.
Words are nice
But I am sure he did not feel that way when they got the win.

I'd like to see a couple of sacks in the 2nd half
A couple by each Wood and Deebo
It all starts in the trenches.

Rivers is good at avoiding sacks. Steelers are bringing good pressure. Ben would have got sacked at least 3 times with that pressure.
Ben would
Have also completed a couple of long 1st downs with that pressure.
Let’s be grateful – we got the guy who wins games not the one who puts up pretty numbers

So I am not a sour puss (maybe I am) but 3 sacks and 2 Fumbles (both recovered) and one called back INT…
There is still one half to play and that half does not make the rest of the season.
Basically I am fearful of an ’06 repeat

Man, you guys are looking good.
Couldn’t ask for a better first half of football. I am impressed that you have absolutely shut down the Charger offense, something the Ravens could not do. The pressure is killing Rivers. Mendenhall is looking great to. I actually like seeing Mendenhall do well and always thought he was the best RB coming out of the 2008 draft class. He is showing he fits the mold of a Steeler RB.
I still hope you lose 28-21 ; )

Na man, we roughed him up bad.
One of the penalties was because Ngata tapped Brady on the shoulder while being held and trying to block the pass. The NFL wants to make sure Tom can still play golf in the off season.
And the second penalty, Suggs skimmed the thigh of Brady, and Brady pointed to the Suggs while smiling, almost as if saying “hahahha, isn’t great being me?”
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.

reason this isnt so troubling is
Logan and Mendy are the culprits on special teams gaffes. That kinda crap can be corrected. What is more systemically troubling is having a sorry offensive line. We don’t have one of those anymore. Lets let our youth grow up some, get Polamalu back and just continue to ball on offense. We’re fine.

Closest I can remember was in 1972....
Regular season against Oakland. Steelers led 27-7 in the fourth quarter, when Madden pulled Stabler and brought in the mad bomber. Lamonica led a furious comeback, but the Steelers held on 34-28.

If the Steelers improve on D in the 4th they'll be fine
But if this crap continues for the whole season…I don’t think there will be a happy ending….
BUT, of course I believe!!! AND I know they can turn it around….but this is certainly very very worrisome!!!

This just in from Pittsburgh:
It has come to the government’s attention that Steeler fans, the most devoted fans in the world, run a substantial risk of heart failure, strokes, and temporary loss of feeling various parts of the body, than 95% of American citizens. Putting aside their petty, even silly issues over healthcare, the big wigs in Washington are making efforts to make it required that all Steeler fans are supplied with AEDs, lots and lots of Tylenol, and a some kind of portrait of James Harrison, on their person at all times on gameday…

NOOOOOOOOO
Not the ENTIRE OFFENSE, seriously.
Mendenhal 1a, O-Line as 1b….simple as that, no other way around it, no Ben, no Holmes, no no one….that’s it. Watch the game again. Watch…it’s ALL about those two parties. Only, all, no one else ha a stake to “Player of the Game…”

Whew
Once again some scary moments in the 4th, but we pulled it off. Who would’ve thought that tonight, Mendenhall, Arians, and the O-line would be the heroes?
Rashard Mendenhall you kicked ass tonight keep that up, just get your damn pads down.
O-line, more specifically Kemo (hope your ok buddy), the Prodigal son here. I wasn’t buying into this whole “continuity and experience” thing but it seems to have made all the difference in the world.
Big Ben, you way to haul ass out there.
Welcome back Deebo.
WR core looks fantastic.
Memo, what would we do with out you?
Defense: Seems you do just fine without Polamalu for 3 quarters, just got bring down the hammer in the 4th.
Screw the officiating crew for the missed forward progress call, thank you for letting SD back in the game. Otherwise a decent job.

I hated that strip call on Logan..
That was NOT a TD, and the rules committee should look long and hard on why a dude is being a) stood up for that long while b) behing pushed backwards and c) not even really fighting it should not = d) havingathe whistle calling the play dead. Happens on other run backs, on QB’s, on running backs who lose momentum…
I thought that play was total and complete trash.
Shame on you NFL if you don’t dress down these officials for that call, in what was otherwise a pretty well-officiated game.
"If I could start my life all over again, I would be a professional football player and you damn well better believe I would be a Pittsburgh Steeler." -- #58
yea
I was goin’ nuts after that call. And the fact that forward progress can’t be challenged irritates me even more. Sure it’s a judgement call, but that seemed like an obvious miss by the Zebras right there.
An apology from the NFL tomorrow would be nice, but unlikely.

PLEASE.......
…Can we now tie the idiotic Steelers fans to stakes, who wanted to TRADE Mendenhall, and declare him a freakin’ bust after what..what..?? NEVER SEEING HIM PLAY A FULL FREAKIN GAME???
So tired of hearing that crap on the boards here and other places.
IMO Parker has seen his shre of #1 back carries just get reduced. Mendenhall ran hard, ran with passion, always hit the holes hard and with authority and no in-the-moment- second guessing…
Yes, our line played it’s best game in a long ass time, but Willie, as much as I love the guy, would have had MAYBE 100 yards, and flaked in some of the tight spots.
Just my opinion….

Redman “Came Up” is all he did.
He looked good sitting on the bench, and I loved that he was there. I think that had to be one of the youngest active backfields the Steelers had dressed for a game iin years!

NOT the entire offense. What game were you watching???
O-Line and Mendenhall get it hands down, no questions. Period. Argue with me all you want, I’m right, and most people would agree.

….I’m coming off as an arsewipe, but please…give the kid his due. He just ran for freaking 165 yards and 2 TDs!! The O-line played their living behinds off!

Why shouldn’t the entire offense be MVP? Mendy was great, but so was: Ben, the entire o-line, Mewelde, Hines, Heath, even Santonio looked better

Because...
…All-inclusive love-fests are so 1973…
We dont have to have an entire offense share something (mythical as it may be!) that should, in each game, belong to the one person, or units, that rose above the others.
Hines did mot rise above, he had his usual good solid performance.
Heath didn’t rise above and do anything any more spectacular than he normally does. Yes, he caught two TD’s, and that’s awesome, but…
As much as the O-Line has been maligned, even by our own fans (do we really need to go to the archives for yoru posts, guys?) they played LIGHTS OUT. I mean, ot for the Steelers, but for an NFL unit!! They KILLED it!
And Mendenhall, fine…why don;‘t any one of you who disagree with me please run by todays top RB performances of the ENTIRE LEAGUE, to me right now. Anyone? Who had more rushing yards than Mendenhall? Who had as many TD’s? And did any of those that came close AT ALL have those TD’s and their yards too?
No.
So THAT is why I say give it to those two, NOT the entire offense.
Dammit, not everyone has to get a hug VERY time you do something right. The offensive unit played great, don’t take me the wrong way. I’m just saying, for the sake of the mythical “Best Player” award, I stand firm. Argue all you want, the answer to my above question, that if you had the guts to answer, would answer my question.
Wow…almost hurt my head there….:)

No, I get you, 100%
And I’m not trying to be argumentative.
I’m just saying there’s a gap between a coupel of ways you’ve put it tonight.
“Give credit where credit s due.” I have no issue with doing that, and I have done that. The entire offense played within itself and did the things the coaching staff asked of them. They played great. I give them all “credit.”
“Ben, the entire o-line, Mewelde, Hines, Heath, even Santonio looked better.” Just “looking better” is not what I’m talking about, and there’s a huge leap between “looking better” and being named the teams outstanding player of a game.
That’s all I’m saying. Don;t throw the bathwater in with the baby. Someone playedmore exceptionally than the others tonight. In my mind, without question, it was Mendenhall.
And BTW, did anyone answer my question? Who in the NFL ran for more yards and TD’s this weekend than Mendenhall?
Exactly.
"If I could start my life all over again, I would be a professional football player and you damn well better believe I would be a Pittsburgh Steeler." -- #58
Just to add...
The O-Line didn’t just “look better,” they killed it out there tonight.
Santonio played like we expect him to play, and nothing really more or above and beyond whatsoever. So exclude him.
Heath…GREAT play. But he wasn’t the crux that Mendenhall was. Loved what he did though, he was a beast AS USUAL.
Ben…did what he usually does, and nothing, again, eyebrow raising. Was there?
It all points to Rashard and the O-line.
I’m done talking about it tonight. Good to win it, and way too close in the 4th. We need to patch up that freakin 4th qtr defense, it’s embarrassing.
"If I could start my life all over again, I would be a professional football player and you damn well better believe I would be a Pittsburgh Steeler." -- #58
I'd say the whole offense
My question is where was there any weakness from them? Just about every single time they had to, they took the ball right down the field and scored.
Who was the MVP? Mendenhall/Roethlisberger/Kemoeatu.
But there really weren’t any weaknesses at all.

My MVP? Mendy
Mendy bossed up like a boss is supposed to. Looked like a first round pick. Granted its easy to run on Whales Vagina, but still, he looked great. Bout damn time. He moved like LT in his prime.
I crack open a beer to thee, young Mendy. You have earned your cute nickname.
Thank you.

the only weak spot for the offense
was Ben holding onto the ball too long…………but we’ve been there, said that
well that and Mendy not putting two hands on the ball………….yes he played great tonight but we were fortunate to not drop one on the ground……..
Were u not watching closely?
Mendy at times was carrying the ball one handed and very loosely, particularly on his very long runs, and when going into contact at the end of those runs
Just lucky guys werent swatting that ball out the hand was all shleeve meant

a) We all know about you, we just don’t care.
b) You fail to forget, if you were in “a bigger market” people might actually hate you more. I’m talking about your own fans. Think New York is easy on a loser? Riiiiiiight.
