Ziggy Hood gets playing time
Ok, so I am little drunk with exuberance right now but I was paying close attention to Ziggy Hood's playing time.
Hood mostly played on passing downs and lined up either in the A-gap of directly across the center. While he didn't blow up the Bronco's offensive line, run many stunts or get a sack he still applied solid pressure to the center and the A-gap. For a defensive tackle in the middle of a transition form defensive tackle to defensive end in an extremely complicated 3-4 defense I liked what I saw.
Also, Ziggy Hood lined up in a three-point stance on every snap, which was a smart move by the coaches.
At one point Hood dropped back into coverage. While he was late getting into the slot, it was refreshing to see Hood used in a different role.
Overall I would grade his performance as a B/ B-.
Note: this grade is inflated as we are dealing with a rookie in the middle of a complicated transition.
