Our coach can cast out demons

Our coach is not only a leader he casts out demons.  No not literally but figuratively.  I have made note of some of the demons he has cast out since he has been here.  He doesn't subscribe to that hocus pokus because he exorcises the demon in charge.  Here are the demons he has cast out:

1. The Demon of home playoff game losses to San Diego:  San Diego had the Steelers' number in the playoffs.  The Chargers came in twice in the past and pulled off upsets in front of the Steelers faithful.  The pain!  The agony!  Yes I remember.  He cast it out first by saying we don't subscribe and then kicking it's tail out of Pittsburgh. 35-24 bye bye demons of old!

2. The demon of high altitude regular season failing: The Steelers were 2-6-1 in Denver during the regular season and had a losing streak against them and hadn't won a regular season game in Denver since 1990.  Mike shrugs it off and bam!  that demon is gone!  28-10 Steelers.

3. The demon of AFC Championship implosions: The media kept saying, "it's hard to beat a team three times in a season."  Mike says, "it's only as hard as beating them once" [paraphrase].  The media says, "the Steelers are cursed in home AFC Championship games." Mike says, "We don't subscribe".  Bam just as quick as McGahee's lights go out.  That demon is sent packing out of Pittsburgh.  23-14 Steelers.  Hocus Pocus you can't smoke us.

4.  The Demon of losing to the Bengals when the AFC North lead is in the balance is waiting for Sunday.  Mike T has put together a formula but pour down his throat.  When he digests it.  Bam!  27-13 send him back down the river to porkopolis.

Patriots. AFCC. Just saying.

It was too late for that game.

This makes sense

The function of gargoyles on medieval buildings was to “ward” off evil demons with images of even more terrible creatures on the buildings. So the posters and images of our most bad-ass players around Heinz Field should do the same.

I kind of like the idea of a carved stone image of ol’#58, missing teeth and all, glowering over the Ohio River from the upper reaches of the stadium.

No mention of the Madden curse?

Cause I’m under the impression that halfway thru the season, Tomlin has outcoached the Madden curse.

FILE - In this Sept. 4, 2009 file photo, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Shaun Hill aims a pass downfield against the San Diego Chargers during the first quarter of an NFL preseason football game in San Diego. Hill earned the starting job for the 2009 season by beating out Alex Smith, who missed last season after re-injuring his surgically repaired throwing shoulder. Head coach Mike Singletary largely chose Hill based on his play down the stretch last year: he went 5-3 over the final eight games and he also owns a 5-0 record at home in Candlestick Park.
