Here we go again.....Cincy Enquirer Style
I was perusing the recomended Cinci sports sites via a link from the Post Gazette and stumbled upon a guy by the name of Chick Ludwig. Now Mr. Ludwig has contended, once again, that the hit by Hines on Rivers was illegal and that Hines is in fact the dirtiest player in the NFL. (As the bastion of sports journalism, SI, claims.)The Link Make sure that while you are there you read the blog telling Steeler fans to "back off'. Apparently he was inundated with emails from Steeler Nation defending Hines and pointing out just exactly what we all think of his opinion. What irks me about the whole thing goes back to the hit on Rivers, and after watching it for the 100th time, I cannot, for the life of me figure how ANYONE could claim it was an illegal or dirty play. The gentleman has a right to his opinion, of course, I just had to weigh in on this. So, following the lead of many others in Steeler Nation I sent Mr. Ludwig an email that said this:
" Everyday on my way into work I walk past six Lombardi Trophies, not six dirtiest player awards." Signed, Mike Tomlin. I wonder if he will read it.

I doubt it
It’s a dirty play because the guy got injured. You see, it’s Hines’ fault that Keith Rivers didn’t know where opposition players were. How dare Hines Ward hit a guy on the opposition team, that given an opportunity would do the exact same thing to him. That’s why Hines Ward is dirty.
My favourite comment
‘Ward took delight when he jacked up Cincinnati Bengals outside linebacker Keith Rivers a year ago, breaking Rivers’ jaw on a block that was late, unnecessary and uncalled for.’
There is a new definition of late hit. It’s hitting a guy who can make a tackle on your player while the play is still alive. Good god
Chuck Ludwig is an idiot
He’s a charter member of the Bengals homer club. He writes for my local paper; The Dayton Daily News. The horrible writers they have are the reason I don’t subscribe to that hocus pocus newspaper. He loves my emails.

You can bet ...
your life that Mr. Ward was “jacked” after the hit, but that is where it stopped. No way he was “jacked” because he broke Rivers’ jaw. It amazes me that folks expect offensive players are supposed to sit back and take hits from the defense.
Wow, hadn't ...
really thought about it. Guess we need to man up to our own responsibility and come up with avatars.
Oops ...
wrong place for that response.

Reporters covering the Steelers often walk past six Lombardi trophies...
The guy named “Chick” who covers the Cincy Bungles walks past none.
He clearly has Lombardi envy. Don’t hate him.
Pity the fool.

Maybe Hines should where a bell
then when he levels someone they’ll have no excuse for not knowing he’s coming.
Maybe some flashing lights well
