Arnold Harrison Released; Donovan Woods Promoted From Practice Squad
Back-Up Linebacker Arnold Harrison was released today and Donovan Woods was promoted from the practice squad. This is the first move in Coach Tomlin's efforts to try and improve the Steelers' lackluster special teams play.

Cut Ratliff and sign Madison
And put Orien Harris on the practice squad after that.

That has been a long time coming
What does Tomlin see in Ratliff that all of us don’t? The kid sucks on STs and it is causing us to lose games.

Ironically, ...
Harrison made 7 ST tackles.

Yeah, but Harrison was at fault on the Cribbs return and I think the Harvin return.

Did someone say they want a little of DaTruth in their life?
Now watch LB D. Woods go out there and bust some heads on Sunday. It’ll be between he and K. Fox who will lead this team in special team tackles the rest of the way, if both remain healthy. Hopefully Woods’ head-banging will rub off on Patrick Bailey, who has been very disappointing this year after having a good season last year.
I still think the Steelers should look at CB Ahmad Carroll who was cut by the Jets yesterday. He was a great special teams player for them this past year and is a former first round pick who is still young. If he can be a gunner and tackle someone on kickoff coverage, sign him up and give K. Ratliff his walking papers. Too bad the Steelers have to have an area cost them a game before they are inclined to make a move. At this pace, I guess they’ll probably drop their 5-WR pkg (the one where Ben has no blockers in the backfield, usually holds on to the ball too long, and then is made a sandwich of when every team blitzes more men than we can block) next training camp.

Haha
God I hope they start fishing for someone besides Ratliff…there has to be a better talent out there than him.

Been wondering about Bailey
Was he moved from the outside to the inside this year? I gotta wonder if he’s been given a different set of responsibilities. Maybe the change in rules regarding four-man wedges has changed the way he plays.
Just tossing out half-baked ideas…

We may keep the play
just run it from a new formation!

Seriously
it’s about friggin time! Even if Woods stinks on ice, we won’t get any worse production than what we got. Besides, it’ll get the kid some “real” playtime.

Woods is talented
If he’s anything like he played in the preseason, he could bring more than just ST play to the team. He may actually be a pretty damn good backup.
BTSC Obituaries
OldManSteeler, ominously died two days before Superbowl 123 where the Ravens are set to attempt their 7th superbowl win, facing the Detroit Lions on Sunday. He was 86. His last words are believed to be "MALOR CAN SUCK IT!!!". Like friends and family, we can only guess what this could mean.

HSS, D. Woods is a good football player, period
The only reason why he didn’t make the team out of training camp was that he pulled a hamstring in the last game and that the team was already short at the position in healthy bodies with Lawrence Timmons being out and Patrick Bailey not being able to play a position.
I think Woods is going to be another one of those rookie free agent finds for this team, if they leave him up on the main squad to play and learn this D. Remember, I haven’t let you guys down yet.

I hope you are right. You are getting me a bit excited to see Woods play.
