Playoff scenario--2005 redux?
Even if we don't win the AFC North, all is not lost. If the current standings hold up, the AFC playoff seedings would be:
In the first round, Steelers at Denver is a game that we just won, so we should be able to handle that. Assuming other seedings hold, in the second round we would play the Colts at Indy. A tough assignment, to be sure, but the Colts routinely fold in the playoffs. A win there could send the Steelers into Cincinnati for the big re-rematch, winner-take-all for a Super Bowl berth. Can the Bengals beat the Steelers three times in one season? It would be fun to find out.
If these playoff matchups sound familiar, it's because in 2005, the Steelers won road playoff games in Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and Denver. I'm not saying it will happen again. But it could. So for the 77% percent of you that think the Steelers will be a wild-card team, that's not such a bad thing.

I see the Indianapolis Ravens and the Patsies having 1st round bye's
Bengals playing the Broncos first round, Broncos win.
We play the Bolts, we win.
Broncos playing the Pats, Broncos win.
Colts play us, we win.
We play Broncos, we win.
We play NO in the SB, we win.

I hate to say this
But I think we lose against the Saints in the SB. They are having one of those years.
Any given Sunday. We've given the Bengals two Sunday's this year.

You think the Broncos can beat the Pats... again?
Bold.

Offensively, maybe not
Defensively, however, absolutely. Neckbeard should be back by then, and unless they completely tank the rest of the season, they will be in there. If they do tank, I could see either the Jets or Texans in a wild card slot.

Fair enough...
It’s all going to come down to Kyle Orton’s health, in my opinion. We will see.

Who do you think the Bengals lose to?
How do you think they end up with a worse record than NE?
New England plays the SAINTS still. They also have very losable games to Jets, Jaguars and Texans. I dunno.. unless Cincy collapses (and they might without Benson…) I don’t think NE gets a bye…

This is how i see it
The Steelers run the table and the Bengals lose @ Minny and @ San Diego. The Ravens get in over the Broncos from their victory over them in tie-breakers.
1.Colts
2.Steelers
3.Patriots
4.Chargers
5.Bengals
6.Ravens
The Patriots beat the Ravens in Foxborough, Bengals get revenge on the Chargers after San Diego forces them to lose the AFC North in the regular season.
We then get a “one for the ages” playoff win over our long-time nemesis the Patriots.
The Bengals pass Defense does just enough to slow down Peyton Manning and control time of posession with Benson and get the upset.
And then, look at here, we get the Bengals at home for the rights to go to the Super Bowl. Only this time, we’ve got a healthy Polomalu and those critical inches that allowed Cincy to get those crucial first downs are now clogged up and we get ourselves our revenge with another Conference Championship.
We then get a rematch with the Minnesota Vikings but only this time, Brett Favre doesn’t make the same mistakes as he did on Oct.25 as we get our hearts broken and Favre pulls off an Elway and rides off into the sunset with a Super Bowl victory.

Honestly, I think Bengals lose 3.
No hate Bengals fans, just my predictions. The Jets are getting desperate

The Cryingest Coach
And Rex Ryan apparently cries a lot lately, and I guess it’s supposed to tug at his team’s heartstrings and get them to win a game… or something like that. LOL!

Wow
What an optimist… So the Steelers not only win the division, we finish with the second best record in the AFC?
I’ll have whatever he is smoking…
I don’t see it happening that way at all… but if it does, there is no way the Vikings win the Super Bowl. For one thing, don’t forget, the Super Bowl is always a home game for Pittsburgh…

I ain't smoking nothing. Tell me, what part of it is dellusional?
Us running the table? I don’t think i need to smoke anything to think we can beat the Ravens twice and beat the Packers at home?
I don’t think i need to be smoking anything to think it’s not out of the question that Cincy will lose 2 out of the next seven games? Especially with road games in Minny, San Diego and NY?
#2 seed? Absolutely!! At 13-3, even if the Patriots win the rest of their games and finish at 13-3 we would get the #2 seed based on conference record. Steelers with 2 losses against the AFC while Patriots have 3 losses against the AFC.
As for the playoffs, fine, i’ll give you that. Wishfull thinking there for what would be the ultimate “revenge playoffs” for the Steelers in beating the Pats AND having the stars align in Cincy upsetting both the Chargers and the Colts and meeting us in the AFC championship game.
But as far as the Vikings are concerned. This is the best team in the NFC because of their defense. They’re offense can keep up with anybody but it’s their D that sets them apart from the rest. Just like us. As far as us losing, if you actually watched that game the Vikings were the better team, and it WAS IN Pittsburgh.
So again, i ask you, what part of this is sooooo far fetched for you to think i must be smoking something?
