Michael Oher movie
Is anyone else a little miffed that this movie is timed to premier a week ahead of our road game to Baltimore? It just seems odd. Will the Ratbirds gain an unfair advantage? Has anything like this happened before? Should the City of Pittsburgh boycott the movie? Or is it totally irrelevant? We have a guy like that on our team, don't we? William Gay, or someone. Anyway, that should be enough questions. So how about some answers...

I saw this movie advertised but didn’t know which player it was about. What’s the scoop on Michael Oher?

they did a thing on him his senior year in college - ole miss i think
he was orphaned over and over, some white family took him in and put a roof over his head got him into playing football and he is a stud. the ravens got themselves a bookend tackle for 10-12 years barring injury.

I saw that trailer and I'll go~
I think it’s a “from adversity you can draw strength” message (not about the Ravens). It’s opening the 20th. I think a lot of people could use the message contained in the movie. With Christmas coming quickly and so many people really coming up on seriously hard times, IMHO it’s past time for a movie like this. Too many people are losing hope.

I dunno Johnny...
The weekend “The Express” was released (10/10/08) Syracuse only lost to West Virginia by 11. Every other loss that season was by more than 20 points. So there you go.

Greatest movie about Baltimore since The Replacements. Well, it was about Washington, but filmed in M&T Bank Stadium!

"Polamalu’s lineage can be traced through several roots. Chuck Norris mated with an Amazon Queen, and on the other side, Tony Hawk mated with Mother Nature. The two children of these spawned and fused in a tantric love session to create Troy Polamalu. The mother however died as he tore through the birth canal with a spin move."

just add him to a growing list of NFL players that have been run over by AP.
what happened to AP? 2 100 yard games, stuffed at the goal line twice by the Black and Gold??? that’s the better ??

I wanted the Steelers to draft Oher. I am pissed that the Ravens got him first, but I would have been stoked if the movie were coming out the week ahead of the Ravens game if we took him from them. (They took him from us and they know it, it isnt a coincidence, but that is the way it is). If the Steelers get psyched out by a movie like this, they dont deserve to win the game. If they want to even it out, watch 2 hours of all the commercials made about Steelers players, or movies/tv shows set in Pittsburgh. Baltimore never gets anything because it is such a terrible and shitty city, so I’ll let them have this one happy story.
Im happy for Michael Oher. But he now has to face James Harrison. Sorry Michael.

DYM pointed out an article in his daily six about Oher. I think it was the N.Y. Times. Good article. Good story. If you can find it, read it. You will want to see the movie.
