Comcast Weekly Red Zone Update
I'm a bit behind my usual schedule, but on to our weekly red zone update post, sponsored by Comcast and their spiffy new Comcast's Red Zone Channel. If you don't mind, leave some commentary about the channel if you in fact have it. On to the numbers from Week 7. Many thanks to Comcast for their sponsorship of BTSC and other SBN Football blogs this 2009 season.
Week 7 Red Zone Efficiency:
3 trips, 2 FGs, 1 Fumble
2009 Cumulative Red Zone Efficiency:
24 Trips; 13 TDs; 9 FGs; 1 missed FG, 1 turnover - 54.2 % TD efficiency (-7.7%) 91.6 % scoring efficiency (-3.6%)
The Steelers struggled a bit for the second week in a row in the red zone. They also had their first turnover - Rahsard Mendenhall's fumble inside the 5 yard line following Santonio Holmes' electric run on the previous play. The Steelers were of course off this past Sunday, but return to action next Monday night against the Denver Broncos.

had redzone for a week
It was awesome. i guess the first week directv gave it for a trial with the nfl package and i loved it. They were really good at switching games and showing highlights. Never felt jarring when they switched and having football action for 3 1/2 hours straight with no commercials was magical. Really going to look into it paying for it next season.
The announcer for it really needs a friend though. It sounds lonely with just him announcing.
Ryan Clark remarked that Coach Tomlin once asked whether he wanted to be the nail in the defense, or the hammer. "I said, 'I want to be the hammer coach.'"
