Could we all breathe for a minute?
We lost another game. Should we be disappointed? Of course. Should we start dissing everybody and acting like jerks? I would prefer to think not. There are 32 teams in the NFL last time I checked, and any of them have the chance to step up to the plate on any given day. We aren't going to go to the Superbowl every year. We aren't even necessarily going to make the playoffs every year, painful as that seems. But it isn't time to write off the season - last time I checked there were still 6 more games in the regular season. And whether we make it to the playoffs or even the SB, we can still admire the athleticism, heart, and determination of our guys in black and gold. Maybe this isn't our year - if so, so be it. But in the meantime, it isn't the Pittsburgh way to give up on people. Why do you all think the Rooneys have been so successful over the long haul? Because they didn't listen to the people screaming "Off with their heads" when things didn't look so good. So let's collectively shed a tear and then move on. And I would love to see us stop the name-calling sprees while we're at it - just a thought.

BUT, we HAVE to beat a shit team like the Chiefs..They have no offense and we still couldn’t hold them in OT..

Check this out
4 if not 5 of our wins could be losses very easily the way we’ve been playing. When you lose to pedestrian teams like the Bears and the CHIEFS you really show what you are made of in those games. We seem to play more conservative than not and you have NOTHING to say about all the kickoff returns for TD we give away every week.
HORRIBLE!!

how many of our wins last year could of easily been loses?

AGREED!!
i am with you, USMC! I love the steelers, even more than my NY Yankees! But, lets not drink the kool aid and face reality..I have been hearing all year loss after loss, that things will get better, and they dont! And, I have to take insults too! If I am wrong with an observation, please show me where I am wrong..Is there a problem with that?
You
Are not wrong in your observation. I have been following the Steelers for 33 years… I feel I can be critical of this team. Their secondary is horrible… and short of Polamalu has been for years! Their special teams… especially the kickoff team has been an issue for years also. I have seen more punt and kickoff returns by our special teams than the NFL combines for in a season.
When we were a yard away from the red line which showed where Reed can make a field goal and we don’t rush the middle for a yard or two and kick the winning field goal… I have a HUGE problem with that! The play we lost TWO yards on was the same play the Pats ran when they went for it on 4th and 2 and blew it last week.
Arians sucks ass and they need to shit can the special teams coach.
I’m out!

Yes the Rooney's have stuck with guys when things didn't look good
but when you consitantly have just dumb calls, and a lack of sticking with the run or running the ball between the tackles you have to atleast think is this the right guy for us and what we want to accomplish. 3rd & 2 in OT run it up the middle you don’t run a toss sweep with the slowest RB on the team with Heath in the backfield instead of him sealing the edge do things that make sense please.

Funny how quickly things change
I posted last week that the Steelers were not playing SB caliber football. You would have thought I blew up the world trade center by the responses I got. Now I’m reading all the comments here and the emergency rooms in Steeler Nation must be full with all the broken arms and legs from people jumping off the bandwagon, not too mention the coronaries and panic attacks. To their credit I don’t see many posts from the folks who were raking me over the coals last week. Where you at Johnny?

Let 'em jump!
If losing 2 games in a row with (now) 6 games left in the regular season makes someone jump….then hell I’ll stand behind and push them! It’s that bullshit “OMG the sky is falling” mentality that typifies OTHER teams fans. Not ours. Yes we stunk up KC today. BFD! Have you never heard that adversity does indeed breed success??? Get up off the freakin’ mat and move on to the next opponent.
And your reference to the WTC is appalling. Not funny in the least. You’re one I’d stand behind and push.

Touchy
guess crappy losses have that affect on people

Face Reality
This was a gut-punch loss and this team is in serious danger of missing the playoffs.
There are losses that you can look at objectively and take positives from. Classic examples: the Giants and Colts games last year. Tough losses but those were games that left me feeling MORE confident that the team could go the distance because of the way they battled high-quality opposition.
When you are playing a team that is, to be generous, finding out who they are…..and you play to their level and commit more turnovers and more penalties and more mental lapses, that’s not the time to join hands and sing Kumbayah.
It doesn’t make you less of a fan to face the fact that this team is not playing at a championship level right now. They’re not even close.

My sentiments exactly
Right now I am cautiously pessimistic. However, I have been an avid Steelers fan for 37 years and I will continue to be a fan. If we make the playoffs or not. If we win the playoffs or not. Through thick and thin. However, my passion for this team does mean that I watch them with blinders on.
6 games to go in regular season...
That’s a reality. We played a terrible game where mistakes were concerned; no doubt. No one is arguing that. Another reality is there ARE 6 games to play for everyone in the league and we’ve been gifted by other teams losses in the past (like the Cincy loss today) that keep the machine going even when it needs oiling. Yes it was a gut punch. So was last week. So was the Chicago and first Cincy loss. No one is saying we don’t have some serious step-it-up to do; I’m just not ready to call it a season and won’t buy into the pessimistic mentality! It’s not being homeristic~ it’s being optimistic that we can and should pull off another miracle.
