Would it matter?
Can Ryan Clark play SS? Would it matter? Not to hate on Ty Carter, I mean the guy has made some big time plays this year, but he did it from the FS spot. So I am curious if it would matter to slide Clark over to SS and either put in Carter or Mundy in Clak's spot. Just seems like the D holds a little better. I understand that no one can do what Troy does, but Clark seems like a logical replacement on Troy's side. The guy does alot, and Carter just doesn't seem to do well on that side. I really didn't get a good look at our defensive schemes today, was shaking my head too much to get a clear view of my TV, so I'm not sure which safety was playing where.
I can only imagine what it's like for Troy to watch from the sidelines. We miss you Troy and its painfully apparent...get well soon!

After praising Carter a couple weeks ago at FS,
I’m also wondering whether he should be 2nd string at SS. On the last play before the FG, I watched Carter take a very bad route to the play once the ball was caught. He ran to the runner, and not a route to head him off after potentially 15 yards.
But I also wonder if Timmons was the one who allowed the catch on that play? The ball went right over him. He seemed to be back in coverage, but maybe he was eyeing a back in the flat somewhere. I don’t have the replay on this one, but it looked like Timmons was guarding an empty zone.
Ach. What a stupefying loss.
