Ben to Play
Thanks to my texts from Steelers.com, I just got the word Coach Tomlin said Ben is recovering well from the concussion and should play on Sunday.
This may seem like good news on the surface, but I am of the mindset it isn't good to rush back from any sort of head injury. Especially in this case, where this concussion is not the first of Ben's career. Also, don't forget we don't know what is going to happen with Chris Kemoeatu. If he doesn't play, our o-line that has gelled relatively well together will have to go into Baltimore with a backup, which doesn't bode well for keeping the defense off Ben. And if he takes a bad hit, who knows what may happen.
So, with Charlie out as backup for 2-4 weeks (according to the text), this begs the question, how do you all feel about Dennis Dixon?

I trust Dixon not to injure his wrist on two passing plays.
Seriously, the kid was drafted to be a back up to Ben and (if he shows anything) trade-bait in the long term. He’s physically gifted, smart, and has had a couple of years in the Steelers’ system. Given Chuck’s age, I feel at least as good about the double D backing up Big Ben. Still, any backup is going to be a step down from our future HoFamer. That’s just the reality of situation. But it’s the reality of every team with a great QB.
Tomlin already said that Kemo would be out at the presser this afternoon. Wexell and company think Romon Foster will probably start in his place. Given that we probably should run the ball a lot more to keep a nearly concussed Ben from throwing all night and putting him in further danger, this is a bigger letdown than Batch being out.
Also, Tomlin noted that the DB’s were confused and out of position on the final Chris Chambers pass in OT. My guess is Timmons was supposed to have help over the top, but the help didn’t know it was supposed to be there.

Was there ever any doubt that Ben would play???
Ben would play without legs, without arms, if he could.
Who's laughing now, O Line??? Ben Roethlisberger (from the Podium) to his O-Line and the world in Superbowl XLIII
Would that make Ben the Black Knight?
I mean, it was only a flesh wound after all.

Looks like Ramon will get a chance
I’m going to let everyone know (like it will make a difference) I will take it personally if you talk bad about Ramon. It’s personal. I think you’ll like what you see if he picks up his assignments well. You may have seen him pancake someone Sunday.

I’m excited to see the kid play. He could be a real steal for us.

"I will take it personally if you talk bad about Ramon."
Hopefully we will have good things to say. Quite frankly I’m terrified of putting someone else in the O-line that was gelling right before the freakin’ ravens. Oh well.

Huge pancake
with butter and maple syrup even, the best part was, he just pushed him hard and the guy went down like he had been hit by a brick wall. I would like to see what he does when he really smacks someone.
I had to rewind and play it again
I was like"Hey! That was Ramon!"

Ramon Foster
how could a guy that started for 4 years, 1st team all freshmen in the SEC with his size and athletic ability slip out of the draft intirely? or did he have an injury that scared teams away?
I can find out
It’s a mystery for sure.

Does Foster have a nicknamey

I used to have a name saved for my best lineman
“Aunt Jemima” That name would float each week. I would present them with a really nice looking certificate that said somethign like this: “Congratulations on earning the name Aunt Jemima. We honor you for slaving long and hard feeding the troops. For masterfully combining the ingredients given you by the head chef and generously serving out pancakes for your fellowman we salute you. Domination is your art and victory is your wage.”
By the way if your name would have been “knee him in the head” I would have blamed you for Ben’s injury.

damn
blaming me now? Let’s stick to “it’s BA’s fault”
