ARIANS FAULT?
I know we all love to bust on Arians, and he deserves it. But don't you think with this year's offensive "issues" some or most of the blame should be put on Tomlin? Week after week the play calling is consistantly poor, but hasn't been changed. Isn't it Tomlin's job as CEO to put Bruce in his place and dictate which plays to call when. I don't mean every play, but he should be given some parameters on what to call in key down and distance situations. I think Tomlin is great, but he can really be stubborn at times.

Typical after a loss
There are solid reasons this team is currently 6-5.
1. Poor special teams return coverage
2. Poor turnover margin. Without Troy, a below average secondary that can’t make a play
3. Big time injuries
4. Inability to get a 4th quarter stop from the defense.
5. BB hasn’t been clutch this year, and has handled the blitz poorly in my opinion.
When you have this many issues on your team, you are gonna lose games, period. It’s easy to jump on the OC, any time a mistake is made it was a " bad play call". BA is not the problem on this team, the five things stated above are. Is BA a great OC? Probably not, but he is certainly not the reason we are 6-5.
13 years and no playoff wins for the Dallas Cowboys... SWEET!
not typical................
fan since 73. Do you think the play calling has been stellar this year??????
Did you know that wired put together a list of everything that is Tomlin’s fault? They don’t usually cover sports, but it’s an interesting read.

Never said that..........................
I think he is fabuous. I think we all agree there is a problem with play calling and it doesn’t seem to have been addressed. If you are the person in charge, you are ultimately responsible.

I am a “fanatic” Steelers fan and I have to agree with you on your point. Tomlin is a good coach AND he is the HEAD COACH. He SHOULD add more input to the offense being used by Arians. We have SO MUCH offensive talent. I do not think that Arians knows how to use it. Dennis Dixon should have had some “situational” game experience before now. He has so much talent to offer. Doug Ligurski is effective as a blockoing back on 3rd and short. Just think how “frightening” it would be for the defensive line to have him and Kemo coming at you at the same time before Mendenhall comes crashing through or Parker or Dixon go “off tackle”. Also with Wallace’s speed and Dixon’s arm (and a threat to run it), we should have more scores. And there is ALWAYS Ben, reliable, accurate and smart (and not afraid to run it when the opportunity arises). And never forget how "sure handed Heath Miller is. And also the talent of Hines Ward, Santonio Holmes and Mwelde Moore. Why are they wasting all of this talent?
Isn’t it Tomlin’s job as CEO to put Bruce in his place and dictate which plays to call when.
Then what’s the point of even having an OC? Just have Tomlin call all the plays, and send BA on his merry way.

reread what I said........................................
especially the part about down and distance.
Still
4 or 5 times the Steelers ran right, between the guard and tackle and gained like 7 or 8 yards then when they needed 2 on third tryed some tricky usually slow developing play over the left side gaurd in his first start. That’s what I don’t like about AB.
If you buy a foreign made product you give money to a person who will not be buying an American made produdt that you get paid to make. Think about it next time you're at the store.
Also
The O is putting up #‘s so AB has some value (Ben likes him).
Could Tomlin find someone else to call plays from AB’s play card?
I’d try it if I was him.

I'm not gonna blame one man in a team sport...
I did, however, have to scratch my head @ the draw play called on 3rd & 10 w/ 1:45 left in the 4th quarter of a tie ballgame. That’s not the type of call that reflects confidence in your QB, your offense or playing to win.
