Knowing when to pull the trigger
The Patriots have just announced they have released veteran offensive lineman Kendall Simmons. Simmons, 30, was signed by the Patriots on Sept. 6, and was active for just one game, Sept. 18 against Tennessee. The 6-foot-3, 315-pound Simmons was selected in the second round of the 2002 draft by Pittsburgh, but was released by the Steelers in the offseason before he joined New England
This makes the Steelers' decision to dump Simmons look even better.

Starting G on the team that got us “One For The Thumb” Thanks Kendall. Good luck in your future endeavors as you get on with your life’s work. Your determination brought you back to the field battling type 1 diabetes.
When You Run The Ball Good Things Happen
And the Redskins just removed former Steeler Antwan Randle-El....
…from his punt return duties. After poor numbers and a recent fumble.
We all loved Randle-El, but the Skins overpaid horribly and gave up a draft choice for a slot man who had about thirty touches a year. The Steelers used that 30-million for bricks and mortar…the Redskins spent it on penthouse improvements that didn’t work out.
Ya gotta know when to hold ’em, know when to fold em.
I would kill everyone in this room for a drop of sweet beer.
