Around SBN: Raiders' GM Begins The Purge

Sunday games open thread

So, here it is. Sunday. We finally get to watch some footy footy football. Yeah, Steelers-Broncos isn't until tomorrow, but at least we can watch the Bungholes and Ratbirds kick the crap out of each other. That, and maybe the Phins-Pats game are the only ones that really caught my interest today. Oh, the Cowgirls-Iggles game tonight might be pretty good, and the Cards-Bears game could prove to be awesome, but that's about it.

On a wishful thinking standpoint, I hope The Texans can upset the Baltimore Colts. Yes, I know, Indy...whatever. Also, I would LOVE to see Joey Porter wipe that smug, prissy little grin off girly-man Brady's face. I really can't imagine anyone, besides a Pats fan, that likes Brady. Anybody else see where Bille-cheat said he would trade anyone on the Pats roster, except Tommy-Boy? As if he didn't have a monster ego already...yeesh.

Anyway, enough of my rant. Onward to football!!!

Happy blogging, gents! I'll throw a poll on here, just for shnitzengiggle since I'm bored, and there's no Steelers game today.

Poll
Which LB do you want to get better acquainted with the opposing QB?

Butterflies when we aren’t even playing?

Lets go Bengals

After Ray Ray the Murderer’s little rant on NFL network I saw this morning, I’m all for the Bengals beating the tar out of the Ravens. Hopefully, that will take all their mojo away for our meeting in a few weeks.

I still hope for a tie though. That would be excellent to have two divisional opponents tie.

Ryan Clark remarked that Coach Tomlin once asked whether he wanted to be the nail in the defense, or the hammer. "I said, 'I want to be the hammer coach.'"

What was said?

Anything interesting? Don’t bother wasting your time if it was just a brainless, macho crap.

by Weirtonite on Nov 8, 2009 1:14 PM EST up reply actions

Maybe its just Ray

But he went on about how he doesn’t have to respect anyone, but they should respect him. He laughed when Faulk mentioned Pitt had dominated the division. Said the Bengals were flakes, etc etc.

I just hate the man, and any feelings about divisional records and rankings go out the window when he opens his mouth.

just because your team is getting their asses handed to them by the Bungholes. Shouldn’t you be over on your own blog crying about Ngata not playing?

They are ordinary.

At least this year. Their defense is OLD. Everyone knows it, which is why Ray has been playing with such fury. He knows he has next to no chance in a year or two to win another SB.

Big heads next week, and the Ravens are demoralized to last a season.

I want some kind of Ray cam, so I can his reaction to this shellacking. Favorite picture was the one were he was walking out of Heinz last year with his hat and briefcase, shoulders and head hung low.

Wayne QBing for Indy?

Sure he made a couple passes (and apparently one Int.), but that removes two pro bowlers from their position. I was following the game online, so, was there an injury I missed?

I was shocked, as the Colts did this when down by 4 in the 4th quarter with 5 minutes left.

Incidently, the Colts put Manning back in when they got to the Texan 9 yard line.

I would. I’d hope our plan is to shutdown Benson and make Carson beat us with his arm. He has not exactly been the most mobile QB since the injury. And since our pass rush has gotten much better since than I’d expect better results.

Bengals looked good today, but the Ratbirds really sucked.

I expected Cincy to continue their inconsistent ways and choke this week at home against the Ravens. But it was the Ravens who choked and especially Flacco. He threw some horrible-looking passes and he should have had at least 2 more picks than the 2 he threw.

Carson Palmer has been playing very well the past few weeks. So the Bengals and their long-suffering fans clearly have the illusion that they’re headed for the Super Bowl this year. Only one problem: they’ll need to prove it at Heinz Field next Sunday.

by Billy52 on Nov 8, 2009 9:51 PM EST reply actions

I agree

The Ravens looked pretty bad on offense. If Ray Rice were to get injured, they would have no source of offense. Flacco is good, but he has no one to throw to; which results in him forcing so many throws.

And as much as I hate the Bengals, they are winning the right way. Playing hard-nosed defense, running the ball at will, and avoiding turnovers is really paying off for them. As of right now, they are legit.
