Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2) @ Denver Broncos (6-1) - Week 9 Open Thread (2nd Half)

Well, it wasn't pretty but through one half, the Steelers are right where they need to be, ahead 7-3. They'll get the ball first to start the second half. The stories through one half was the lack of offensive plays for Pittsburgh, thanks in part to a defense that has given up a decent amount of yardage without breaking; the crucial mistake by Kyle Orton that led to a pick six by Tyrone Carter; and the advantage the Steelers have had in the punting game.

Let's Go Steelers!

I hope we come out swinging this time.

We need better looks on offense to start with. It seems like we are in the same 2 formations over and over. Either singleback or gun with slot receivers.

Take the leash off Ben and let him call from the no huddle. It is the only way we are going to get anything from this defense.

Ryan Clark remarked that Coach Tomlin once asked whether he wanted to be the nail in the defense, or the hammer. "I said, 'I want to be the hammer coach.'"

OldManSteeler, ominously died two days before Superbowl 123 where the Ravens are set to attempt their 7th superbowl win, facing the Detroit Lions on Sunday. He was 86. His last words are believed to be "MALOR CAN SUCK IT!!!". Like friends and family, we can only guess what this could mean.

How many other QBs

do you think “Something good’s going to happen” when they are flushed out of the pocket? Didn’t you just KNOW that was going to be a good play?

Question now: kick it deep?

Do we thrust special teams coverage? It’s been good so far. Somehow I expect we play it safe and squib or pop it up.

Undrafted rookie I believe. He’s not in a happy place right now.
