Scalping possibilities at Heinz Field
Hello Steelers fans.
I'm a Green Bay native and my father, in addition to being a Packers fan, is also a lifelong Steelers fan. He's getting up there in age and I'm not sure how many more opportunities we'll have to make it to Pittsburgh to see the Packers play the Steelers.
However, upon looking at StubHub and other ticket brokers, tickets for the December 20th game seem a bit out of my range (140ish for upper deck endzone).
Thus, I was wondering if 1) there are any Pittsburgh-specific ticket brokers that might have better deals and/or 2) how's scalping at Heinz Field? Are there often tickets available? Is scalping even allowed? I'd hate to drive all the way from Wisconsin without tickets and get snubbed and look like a jackass.
Any advice would be great.
Geoff.

Understand ...
your sticker shock re: the cost of tickets. I would be very surprised if you are able to stumble upon any tickets closer to face value. I’ve found that tickets available via Stub Hub or through the NFL Ticket Exchange [see www.steelers.com tickets link] are priced closely to what scalpers want. Both times I took my Packers fan son to Lambeau I bought tickets via eBay and when I spoke to “scalpers” outside the stadium their prices were comparabble to what I paid. When I went to Heinz last year and Mile High this, scalper prices were comparable to site prices. I don’t know that you will find a last miunte deal with a scalper unloading tickets at bargain basement prices. Good luck.
Scalping at Heinz Field?
I didn’t know we still did that……………can we trade those scalps in for cash or are they more like trophies?

Hi Geoff
Nice to see another person of class and good breeding who knows how to spell their name right. (I’m a Geoff too if you can’t tell.)
I don’t have any info for you, just had to comment anyway.
I think in the 1700's there would be a good possiblity you could be scalped in that area
"A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty." - Winston Churchill
There are always scalpers around Heinz and, although there are some restrictions, the city does permit the activity. I have no idea though what prices they get.
You can also check the ticket exchange ticket on the Steelers web site, but the prices there are probably about the same as on Stub Hub. Unfortunately, although I thought the atmosphere was a bit better at 3 Rivers, it’s really tough to get tickets to Heinz (unless, of course, Pitt is playing someone other than Notre Dame).
Perhaps I should have been clearer...
Thanks for the savagely murderous advice from some.
Steelchamps!!: If you do have tickets available, that’d be swell.
If the lady lets you get rid of them, I’d probably be able to purchase them.
Thanks all, again.

Craigslist
The evening before the Bengals game at home, there were some last-minute deals popping up on Craigslist. Much more reasonable than Stubhub.
