What now?
Some random thoughts on what should be done at this point:
Troy: shut him down. No reason to keep him on the active roster or risk playing him. Get well my friend, and return next year 100% to resume your role as the most indispensable player on our (or any) defense.
Arians: no need to state the obvious (after the season is over).
Tomlin: stop talking. Under promise, over deliver.
Secondary: activate K. Lewis, give Burnett a starting role. Sit all the current starters as much as situations allow. Concentrate on developing or evaluating next year's potential starters.
Decide NOW what we're going to do with FWP. If he's not going to be re-signed, take him off the active roster and bring a RB up from the Practice Squad. As it is now, he takes carries away from Mendy, slowing his development.
Special teams: here's an idea, let's try blocking punts! Every time one of our next three opponents is punting from inside their 20, we go all out to block the punt. That way, we might actually master how its done for next year. How about some creativity on special teams? A reverse on a kick-off to Mike Wallace perhaps?
Sweed: start him for at least a half the next 3 games. May as well find out now.
Keyaron Fox: let him play a whole half for Farrior just to see how he does. Does he have what it takes to be the "man with the microphone helmet?" Does Timmons?
Relish the spoiler role: it's all we have left. Misery loves company, let's bring the Ratbirds down with us.
Work on an offensive scheme designed to defeat tight man coverage. We're going to keep seeing it until we defeat it. Script plays if you have to Tomlin. BA has shown his limitations. Time to take control.
Dennis Dixon: give him a half dozen plays per game. I know the Wildcat is a gimmick, but with the right guy (see Cribbs, Josh) it gives you another weapon, it gives the defense something to think about other than the stats they are racking up sacking BB.
Santonio: after a slow start, you've been money. Let's get this sucker in the Pro Bowl so we have something to live for after the RS.
Kiesel and Woodley: you guys have been playing your guts out during the losing streak. Thanks, we appreciate it.
Other ideas?

After a 6-2 start
The O-line criticism died down. After last night, I say it should be looked at again (but this is stating the obvious).

A couple of thoughts...
I agree with most of what you said about Troy, Tomlin, Keisel, and Woodley.
But with FWP, he looked good in the very brief glimpses we got of him. I think he wants to stay here, I don’t see any reason to deactivate him for a practice squad guy at this point. He’s not seeing enough of the field in my opinion, to say he’s hurting Mendenhall at this point (11 carries over the last 3 weeks, 17 carries in four weeks). I don’t see it as hurting Rashard that much.
I’ve always liked the idea of Sweed going out there in punt and field goal situations. Let him use his size, speed, and leaping ability for something if we’re not going to even give him a chance to catch a pass. Maybe he gets to one or two. It would be nice. And let him get some looks at his actual position while we’re at it, as you said.
Using Dixon on offense right now, unless necessary, is a little risky. Not too risky for me personally, but I can understand the concern. He’s our only back up QB right now. This offseason take a serious look at ways to get him on the field from time to time. He’s a weapon we should at least make threats of using. If for no other reason to take some of our opponents focus off of our actual offensive gameplan during the week leading up to the game.

Re: FWP
Your recommendation is predicated on wanting to keep him. Mine was a recommendation on what they should do if they definitely DO NOT want to keep him. I have no problem with playing him if we intend to have him here next year.
Okay, I missed that part...
I see what you’re saying Mel.
I could easily see a scenario where he is let go or leaves. But is a possible scenario worth sitting a veteran who is playing decent as a change of pace guy? Tough call to make.

FWP
I will miss him if he goes. However, if that’s what’s best for our team, so be it.

What now?
Let’s just cut and fire everyone and start over again. At least, that’s what it seems like everyone wants around here today…
The Hell that Tomlin & the Steelers have unleashed on me this December is indescribable.
Great Idea
We should do that for sure…heard Zorn might be available for a HC job and maybe we could get Al Davis to run everything. We would be unstoppable…in the 40 times or track.
If we had Tj Duckett on this team we’d be 14-01.

TJ Duckett and LeCharles Bentley comments were only funny for the first thousand times,
as are Jim Mora’s “playoffs” quote and unleashing hell. We all need some new material (myself included).

Lots of good ideas Mel
I can’t argue with any of them and I don’t believe you’re suggesting that we get rid of the core players on the team.
I thought Troy would be on IR by now after last night.
If you buy a foreign made product you give money to a person who will not be buying an American made produdt that you get paid to make. Think about it next time you're at the store.
I think BA & BB are holding this offence hostage
Whiz wanted to make him into a real QB and got BB attitude for his efforts
BA let’s him do what he wants and gets his loyalty.
I am tired of watching great QBs every Sunday; it makes me sick with jelousy. BB has talent, but no discipline, he is arrogant and spoiled, which is a bad mixture for a position where you have to be a student for your entire career. Those other QBs study & practice their craft year round. I am sorry but BB will never progress as a QB without someone saying no to him, and our defence will not always bail him out. The great ones make it look easy, not like pulling teeth.
To be fair
Ben looked far from right last night. He may have told the Doctors what they needed to hear, so that he could play, silence the Hines talk, and hopefully regain some team loyalty.
I agree that Ben is not progressing with BA, and Ken Anderson. Anderson has been Ben’s QB coach for three years, and Ben still will not throw a ball away (like you didn’t know that). I would like to see BA and Anderson replaced during the off-season. Unfortunately, since Charlie Batch is Ben’s backup, I don’t think Ben would listen to Charlie either, as a possible QB coach replacement.
