Let The Miracle Begin!!!!!!!!!!

Yes i am one of those fans that will never give up hope until the Steelers are mathematically eliminated, yes a lot has to happen, but it blows my mind that we can go 9-7 and get in. We dont need every team to lose out like NFL Network said. You might as well eliminate Denver from this talk because they have to lose out and it would never happen. Jacksonville has to go 1-3 and they will finish 8-8 with games against Mia, Ind, @Ne, @Cle, which can very easily happen. The New York Jets @TB, Atl, @Ind, Cincy, We need them to lose 2, they could very well lose 3 but just hope for 2 and they will finish 8-8. Miami needs to lose 1 being head to head against them last game of year, @Jax, @Ten, Hou, Pit, Hopefully they will beat Jax and lose 2 more assuming to us and losing to Tennessee finishing at 8-8. Pittsburgh obviously has to win out, and weve played good against top notch teams all year. We get GB and Bal @home huge advantage, and @Miami, So one game at a time and, just pray for lots of help, we can still do this, i know its too hard to do and its pretty much impossible, but im a diehard fan and i wont ever give up. GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m not going to call you crazy. You are damned die hard. Hats off. I believe if you believe

Bring a towel to the game. Black or gold or yellow. If you don't have one buy one, If you can't buy one, dye one!!!

It actually could work except for one thing

There is no way this team wins out playing the way they are. They got out hustled by Cleveland when they all were saying this is it. Now you watch interviews and they are all saying the season is pretty much over. Do you really think they are going to have more intensity than teams that seem to actually want to be in the playoffs.

We lost to three of the worst teams in the NFL

If we are lucky we might win 1 of the remaining 3 games. We won’t be going to the playoffs at 7-9.

The Hell that Tomlin & the Steelers have unleashed on me this December is indescribable.

I hate to be the guy to tell you this but

The real tradgedy here is that the competition for playoff spots consists of Miami, Jacksonville, Denver, Baltimore and New York. These teams are not playoff caliber teams. In fact I heard Tony Sporano on M&M yesterday and he was being congratulated for such a great season. They’re 6-6 for christ’s sake!!!!

But this does lead to worst case scenario: Baltimore. All of the aforementioned losses are reasonable but we’d also need beat Baltimore and have them lose to one of Chi/Det/Oak and 2/3 are at home. Otherwise the Ravens go to the playoffs under your dream scenario.

The Steelers lose every tie breaker because…. well because they lost to KC/Oak/Cle.

by 16andCounting on Dec 12, 2009 4:21 PM EST reply actions

@9-7, the Steelers have already only lost the tie breakers to Jacksonville & Baltimore;

The Steelers could get a Tie Break over these:

New England – Strength of Victory (SOV) in they lose 2 of 3 AFC games;
Miami – Head to Head(HTH); Miami would have a better conf. record;
New York – SOV if they lose to Indy;
Tennessee – Pittsburgh has HTH and conf. tie-break
Houston – SOV in a 3-way tie; Houston would have Common Games tie break in a 2-way tie
San Diego – HTH; San Diego would have a better Conf. record.
Denver – HTH; SOV – unless Denver loses to Philly while getting to 9-7

A scenario (there are a few others)

Jacksonville loses to Miami, Indy, New England (8-8)
Baltimore loses to Chicago or Oakland + Pittsburgh (8-8)
New York loses to Indy, Cincy (8-8)
Miami loses to Pittsburgh (9-7, but loses Head to Head)
Houston loses to Miami or New England (8-8)
Tennessee can win out or lose – doesn’t matter (9-7, but loses Head to Head & Conf.)

We are in @9-7 – the only stretch is Baltimore losing to Chicago or Oakland.
(Unless, of course, you doubt that we can win the last 3)

We can even include:
New England with 2 losses to Buffalo, Jacksonville, and Houston (9-7, 6-6 conference, will lose Common Games & Strength of Victory to the Steelers)
Denver with 3 losses in the final 4 (stretch)
San Diego with 4 losses in the final 4 (stretch)

i like your enthusiasm

but i dont have any more faith left in this team (will still wear my jersey on game days & will watch the games tho)

but i think i’m echoing the sentiments above when i say: they are supposed to have had this “must win” mentality for the last 2 weeks. meanwhile we lost to oakland and cleveland.

OK, OK, OK...

I’m doing my impression of NatalieWoods in “Miracle on 42nd Street” (right time of the year I guess).

Here’s the picture;

I’m sitting in the back seat of a car,
Driving around what seems to be aimlessly,
Sluggishly waving my ‘Terrible Towel’,
and I’m chanting under my breath in a mono-tone…

“I believe… I believe… It’s stupid but, I believe”
