1-4 in the Division?!? Unacceptable.

I have to say the biggest difference from this year to last is our division play. If you think about it, going from 6-0 in the division last year to 1-4 (with a very loseable game against baltimore coming up) is just disgraceful. If we do nothing else but play our asses off in when the division games come up we'd be in a much much MUCH different position today. at 5-0 in the division we would be 10-3, cinci at 7-6, and the ravens at 6-7. We'd be looking at a first round bye with the tiebreaker over san diego and once again an AFC North crown. Now, granted the Steelers havent played much good football at all recently, but the most telling part about this season is that we have not shown up for the divisional opponents. Going in to Cinci Week 3 we looked like we just assumed we would win. Without troy, playing a team coming off a big win over Green Bay, we still assumed we would win. And that played itself out exactly as you would think. We dominated for 3 1/2 quarters and just assumed our defense would hold on to the win. That mentality is going to lose you games no matter what. Week 6 against the browns at home we got troy back, and the browns being the terrible team they are didn't do much. But again watching the game it looked like we just assumed we would win because we're the steelers and they're the browns. Week 10 against the Bengals, again, we took the field thinking week 3 was a fluke and there was no way the bengals would sweep us. Coming of a 5 game win streak since then we looked pretty smart, but damn were we wrong. We got manhandled. Then against baltimore we were banged up but still, we had multiple chances to put that game away, and our defense didn't show up.  and YET AGAIN last thursday we just assumed we would bounce out of our 4 game losing streak and beat the browns, and we let the league's worst defense hold us to points and bring down BB 8 times.

If there's one thing we need to change about the attitude of our team: its that we need to show up for the divisional games.

Not sure ...

the players have an attitude problem. There seems to be a definite execution problem and a facing tougher opponent problem, but bad attitude, don’t think so. However, I’m not in a position to know. The team is not getting blown out, rather they are getting “nudged” out … 3 to 7-point losses being the rule. I suspect they are frustrated, but hey, they can always read the press and get a morale boost from all the positive vibes.

maybe attitude was the wrong word

i still think losing 4 games in our division is unacceptable though. i know as a fan i definitely didnt expect to lose to the bengals and browns. but for the team to expect to win is a mistake. every win is a battle and you cant expect to beat the lower teams just because you won the superbowl
