Updated playoff AFC scenerio (post thurday) GO BEARS!?

Ok Gang, another flip of the coin comes up with Jax  (7-7) with a key loss to the Colts On Thursday nite football  in a fantastic game.   KEY for the Miracle run.

If the steelers can finally show some December style Football and beat the Pack, and the Bears can pull off a Spectacular upset, Then that would Very much put us in the conversation of at least a legitimate possibility

even if Balt beats Chi  Sun we STILL wont be eliminated if we beat the pack. We would just need them to lose to Charles Frye and the Raidas (in the black hole) along with the rest of the mayhem. regardless the ride continues.

Anyway does this look correct? How bout if Miami catches NE or other scenerios? anybody have any? The Biggest challenge (if we win 3 in a row I know, I know) is the Bears or Raider upset of Balt. thats tuff possible but stranger things have happened.

Week 14
Miami over Jax  (w)
Indy over Denver (w)

Week 15
We beat GB
Indy over Jax (w)
Atlanta over Jets
Chicago over Baltimore (or Balt loses @ Oak week 17)

Week 16
Ne over Jax
We beat Baltimore

Week 17
We beat Miami

Chicago over Baltimore is essentially the game that could get us into the playoffs (IF we win out). The Jets probably won’t beat Atlanta because Sanchez is questionable at best. And NE should destroy Jax since they are struggling to hold their division lead.

The Hell that Tomlin & the Steelers have unleashed on me this December is indescribable.

I don't think so

the only stretch is bears over baltimore and well we’ve seen cutler have his ups and downs but if cutler is up, they can pull it out. I’m cautiously optimistic about this because I feel if we do get in and troy comes back then watch out! I think thats why he hasn’t been placed on IR yet. Otherwise whats the point of just keep having him on the injury report every week ? I don’t think there is anyway the ravens will lose to oak. We need the bears to trip them up.

Steelers football is 60 mins.

the only stretch is bears over Baltimore

I’d say the biggest stretch is us winning 3 games in a row. I think many people keep overlooking that in these break downs.

Troy is not on IR, and I think after he was ruled out for this weekend he said he was shooting for week 17 to play. But if we are eliminated, I don’t see that happening or a point to it.

We lost to Oakland so Baltimore can too. If Ben had played the game in Baltimore, then we would have won that one.

although

Dixon, while looking timid and lost at times, did a fine job. He had little time to prepare himself, and in my opinion, the OC did not create enough play calls to suit his style.

I'm not

I thought that at first…but then Oakland and Cleveland happened. Dixon may not have made some Big plays that Ben could have made. However, he also did not make bad plays that Ben would have made (i.e. holding on the ball sacks). And try running Ben on that option to the right, he ain’t gettin’ there.

I don't ...

think anyone overlooks the Steelers’ need to win out. I just think as all good critical thinkers must do, these folks are operating under the assumption that the one given is the Steelers must win out. Then they simply discuss the parts outside the Steelers’ control. Sadly, I see a tough row to hoe for our favorite team. Packers are playing very well and playing very well in the areas of the game where we are showing some weakness. All would do well to remember … “watch that first step” …

Add Tennessee beating Miami (Week 15)

In a 3-way tie with Miami & Houston – Miami would advance.

by Sick Puppy on Dec 20, 2009 8:44 AM EST reply actions

Scratch this

Miami plays Houston in Week 16. These 2 teams can’t be tied at 9-7.

if oakland can beat them, and they lose to philly next week that is another door that could open….

It can still be done even though Baltimore won

The Steelers if they win out and now with Denver losing to Oakland, Denver has to lose to Philly that will make them 8-7 and Jax loses to Ne will make them 7-8. Even if Denver wins the last game of the year finishing 9-7, we will win the tiebreaker with them via head to head, Beating Miami makes them 9-7 and we will win the tiebreaker with them. Baltimore will be 9-7 grab the 5th seed and the Steelers will grab the 6th seed if that all falls into place.
