The BTSC Predict the Score Competition, Wk 13 vs Oakland Raiders
Before I begin, the long awaited updated scores and rankings will be posted after this week, just so I can start fresh from next week the way I did earlier in the season
Week 13 the Steelers head home from a heartbreaking overtime loss to the Baltimore Ravens, where we saw the defensive pass rush return to near full form, and the first career start for Dennis Dixon. Although there were a few good aspects during the game, utimately nothing but a W will satisfy a fan base now starting to wonder if we have enough tank for a true playoff run
The AFC Wildcard race is well and truly heated up, with Baltimore (6-5) now well back in the thick of the race, as well as Denver (7-4), Jacksonville (6-5), Tennessee (5-6), New York (5-6), Houston (5-6), Miami (5-6) and our own 6-5 Pittsburgh Steelers.
Teams like Jacksonville, New York and Houston are reeling much the same as we are after tough losses.
As it stands, Tennesse is the most hot team of the Wildcard race, and is 5-0 after switching to Vince Young, and after the amazing 99 yard drive to the win against the Arizona Cardinals I can only imagine how high their confidence levels is.
Denver pulled off a semi upset against the Giants, and are looking to reclaim themselves as legitimate threats. Being 1 game up on the rest is a sure advantage
Oakland comes into Pittsburgh this week, and are not to be underestimated. This one in my eyes is well and truly a must win. Each win is critical from here on out.
Oakland upset Cincinatti, and has new energy under Bruce Gradkowski. As DrinkYourMilkshake posted in the 6 pack, Gradkowski's stats are less than impressive against the Steelers. I look for that trend to continue
The Steelers pass rush is starting to execute at the right time of the season. Lawrence Timmons has been in fine form and Lamarr Woodley is getting back into his dominant form of last post season.
Although our Special Teams coverage has been poor, the re-signing of Anthony Madison will hopefully pay dividends.
Make your picks for the Raiders game below. Here we go Steelers, Here we go!

Here’s another stat line for you. Sorry to boast.
Baby girl Coebra (Deeja Grace)
born 12/1/09 at 8:44 AM CST
3 lbs 9 oz
17 inches long
in the NICU and doing awesome.
Congrats!
But dear lord that is a tiny ass baby. I had a cousin born 10 weeks early, damn smallest living human being i’ve ever seen.
Good luck
Thank you sir
She was 7 weeks early. Mother had some problems and that is reason for premature birth – nothing wrong with the baby. She is strong, healthy and breathing without any help at all. Getting ready to head back to the hospital in a couple minutes to spend another night. Expect to be able to take her home in 2-4 weeks. With any luck, before Christmas. Mom, Dad and baby are all doing very. very well.
Congratulations!!!
You just got the best Christmas gift you’ll ever get! Now, get your little princess a Terrible Towel to go with her birth certificate and start her off in style! Don’t worry, Dad… the folks who work NICU are angels here on earth. Your little one is in good hands. Best wishes to all of you!!
When the tailgate drops, the BS stops. Shut up and play!
Congrats!

Thank you very much everybody
The well wishes are greatly appreciated. I’m home for a quick shower and off to a job interview. Extremely busy week to say the least. Baby is still doing great. Experiencing a bit of jaundice which is evidently normal for premature babies so she is “suntanning” under the blue lights for a day or two with her super cool shades on. She is small but mighty. Thanks again everybody.
Peace,
Brian

I’d like to add, that I hate them and they stank.
And I feel my hating and stankin has not been sufficient enough this year. I take some of the blame for this last pair of losses. My ranting and anger have been subdued for some reason this season.
I promise to increase my general irritating-ness and increase my hatred and stankdom of all teams we play this year.
We have to come together to win out. I will do my part.

This is Pittsburgh Steeler Troy Polamalu getting knocked around by the Pacific Ocean in Hawaii yesterday...
Minutes later, Troy caught the ocean going over the middle and smacked it right in the mouth. The ocean fumbled, Troy recovered and ran it into the endzone. The ocean never messed with Troy again.

Oakland17 Steelers14
The Steelers will be leading 14-10 in the fourth quarter with about 4 minutes left. Oakland’s offense will drive the length of the field and score a touchdown with 30 seconds left. Wait a minute, that can’t happen! Our defense closes the deal in the fourth quarter! Oh sorry, I thought this blog was from 2008……
Steelers 42 Oakland 0
This will be a true ass-kicking…Total Domination by all three units. BB throws 3 TDs and almost 400 yards, Mendy goes for 130 and a score. Harrison comes off the edge with a strip sack and Woodley does what he does when that happens TOUCHDOWN. Logan finally breaks one and takes it 105 yards for a score because he still hasn’t learned to take a knee, but forgive him for this one.
Steelers 37 Raiders 17
Don’t ask me how the Raiders go 17, but God dammit if we don’t win this game by more than 20, I will tear down Oakland, using Al Davis as a club.

If the Steelers hadn’t lost the last three games, including one to the Chefs, I’d give them a much bigger cushion. I’d also be lot more comfortable if Jamarcus Russell was playing. Troy too, but then that goes without saying (even though I just did).
