The Denver Broncos, Baltimore Ravens, and Pittsburgh Steelers all have a (9-7) record- Who's in the Playoffs?
Here would be the "Hypothetical Scenario":

Remaining Games:
@ Pittsburgh Steelers (7-7) …Ravens’ Lose
@ Oakland Raiders (5-9) … Ravens’ Win
Miami Dolphins (7-7) …Prediction on final record (8-8)
Remaining Games:
VS Houston Texans (7-7) … Dolphins’ Win
VS Pittsburgh Steelers (7-7) … Dolphins’ Lose
New York Jets (7-7) …Prediction on final record (7-9)
Remaining Games:
@ Indianapolis Colts (14-0) … Jets’ Lose
VS Cincinnati Bengals (9-5) … Jets’ Lose
Jacksonville Jaguars (7-7) …. Prediction on final record (8-8)
Remaining Games:
@ New England Patriots … Jaguars’ Lose
@ Cleveland Browns … Jaguars’ Win
Pittsburgh Steelers (7-7) Prediction on final record (9-7)

5=Baltimore; 6=Pittsburgh
Baltimore has Division Record over Pittsburgh
Baltimore has Head to Head over Denver
Start over at Step 1
Pittsburgh has Head to Head over Denver
I don't think that's how it works
Division record is the tie breaker for Division champs. For conference champs, isn’t it conference record? I don’t know if it makes a difference, but it makes more sense to have the conference record decide the wild card then division record.

Head to head is first tie breakfer outside of your division
That is why we would beat out the Broncos.
Optimism. Positivity. Win.

Yep- Left out Jacksonville
Thanks Sick Puppy- I did leave Jacksonville out. I added it to the post.

Steelers Playoff Scenario
Or does either Baltimore or Denver Needs to lose their last 2 games?
Depends on how many other teams are tied
For Pittsburgh to finish ahead of Baltimore, Baltimore needs to lose 2.
For Pittsburgh to finish ahead of Denver, Denver needs to lose 1 unless there is a tie with Denver, Houston, and/or New York.
NO..
a denver needs 1 loss and so do the ravens..we MUST beat the ravens

Those are realistic predictions..
Only thing is you have to add Jacksoville who is 7-7
they play @NE next week which I think is a L so 7-8 which puts them out, then they are @CLE final week.
In your scenario above, if it’s us, BALT, and DEN then the first tie-breaker is record in head-to-head which would mean…
BALT 2-1 (beat us and DEN, then lost to us)
STEELERS 2-1
DEN 0-2 (lost to both)
Then BALT beats us for seeding with the better DIV record 3-3 to 2-4. So we’d be 6th seed
Which could mean a re-match with Cincy. I think the outcome would be different this time. Then we’d have to go to Indy…do I hear 2005 all over again? Then championship game at either SD, NE, or BALT
Correct Result
With the wild card tie breakers, only one team from each division moves forward – you have to break the division ties (Balt & Pitt) before looking at the others.
Start with Balt/Pitt/Den @ 9-7
Baltimore wins the Division tie breaker over us. They move forward leaving only Balt/Den.
Baltimore wins the Head to Head tie breaker over Denver.
Baltimore gets Position #5
Go back to Step 1.
Start with Pitt/Den @9-7
Pittsburgh wins the Head to Head tie breaker over Denver.
Pittsburgh gets Position #6.
Pitt
Thanks again for clarifying that Sick Puppy!
I am getting goosebumps!!!
It's finally getting good again
Before today, I knew that Baltimore needed to lose to Chicago or Oakland
or Denver needed to lose to Philly and either Oakland or KC.
Never expected it to be Denver losing to Oakland.
It's finally might be looking good
we obviously have to win out, when we win next week and if Denver loses to Philly then we will automatically grab the sixth via conference record at 5-6. It doesn’t matter if Miami wins or loses or any other teams, The Steelers being the 8th team in the standings virtually control their own destiny. If we win out, we are in the playoffs as the sixth seed, and added if Baltimore loses out, we will be the 5 seed. Pretty crazy and confusing but there is a great link @ http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/playoffscenario?algorithm=WinningPct
yes but I do not see Jacksonville beating the Patriots in NE when New England will be wrapping up a playoff spot, I just don’t see it happening
So basically we are not in control of our own destiny
Winning out is not an automatic playoff entrance
How many Baltimore Ravens does it take to win a Super Bowl? Nobody knows and we may never find out
What happens if the Bengals lose out, won't they also be 9-7?
Who's laughing now, O Line??? Ben Roethlisberger (from the Podium) to his O-Line and the world in Superbowl XLIII
not if balt wins out
