Around SBN: Dissecting Nick Diaz's Positive Drug Test

Good job D!

We no longer have a problem... it's a trend.  The other teams ability to drive on us at will late in the game is a HUGE problem.

Once again Arians fat ass got comfortable with his liberal play calling and a 4 point lead (run, run, run punt) and Reed misses a huge field goal.  What a crock of shit and another HORRIBLE loss.  Hope your happy Tomlin because your team sucks ass right now!

For once, it's not Arians

This one is on the D.

Q: Who in the NFL can drive against the Steelers with the game on the line and no time left?

A: The Bears, Bengals, Chiefs, and Raiders. Wait a minute . . . the Bears, Chiefs and Raiders??!! ’Nuff said.

Dont forget the Ravens!

And sorry my friend… Arians started his conservative play calling with a 4 point lead. We ran too much, passed too little and punted because of it. Arians needs to flip burgers at McD’s. I am tired of his nasty, cottage cheese filled ass!

Come on!

The Oakland- frigging-Raiders. Less than two minutes. Heinz Field. 85 yards. The Steeler D. In almost any other season I would take that to the bank.

Could the offense have played better? Of course! Should the D give up a game-winning drive to a no-name Oakland offense with less than two minutes? No friggin’ way.

I am NOT an Arians fan. But the Defense has time and again had the game on their shoulders and failed to deliver. This one is on the D. 21 points in the 4th quarter?? to the Oakland Raiders?? Quit ragging on Arians. I love LeBeau but his reputation has taken a huge hit this season. There … I said it. No one else has the balls to.

His reputation may be taking a hit, but it is because the players on the field don’t know how to execute. This has been proven all year. I have had the same thoughts on LeBeau cross my mind a few times this year, but he isn’t the one on the field. Our DBs aren’t making the plays. Burnett could have ended the game, Ike allowed Murphy to burn him, Carter got beat, Mundy got beat, Clark got beat, Gay was horrendous. Never like seeing people get hurt, but a litte part of me what somewhat glad he went down. I hope he is ok, but hope he is relegated to Nickle for the rest of the season.

yes but most of those guys have made plays during the season but Gay has just sucked all year(no pun intended)

Q: How many points have Oakland allowed a game?

A: 23 points allowed a game.
How in the hell is the NOT Arians fault? A 10-6 ball game and your even not trying to win? How long has the D been allowing four quarter drives? All season. a OC with any sense would now they need to score more than 10 points. He’s great when we are behind. The problem is the D isn’t holding leads anymore.
And now for some good news: Burnett looked really good on that one play after Gay left. He just couldn’t pick it off.

Yes it's time to call out LeBeau

Citizen, you are correct. It is time to start calling out LeBeau as to why his defense can’t stop anyone when it counts. I actually say that is my post “…it’s time for Firings”. Yes, I’m a big LeBeau fan and he is truly a Hall of Famer, but this is the worst we’ve seen any of his D’s play and it’s time for change.

I don’t think firing LeBeau himself is the answer at this point, but I’d start by firing Ray Horton (secondary coach). They’ve played horrible all season and now are starting to look unprepared which is on the coach. It’s also on the coach that they don’t have anyone ready to take over for Gay who’s been a target of opposing OCs all year. Keenan Lewis was a 3rd round pick, yet he’s not ready to get on the field. Was he a poor choice, or is it the coaching…Bryant McFadden was starting by the end of his rookie year.

Also, the coach should be able to determine if the team needs to go out and get somebody to help out. Denver got Ty Law who would have loved to play here, Saints got Chris McAllister and Mike McKenzie. Why couldn’t Horton see that what he has on the bench…Townsend, Burnett, Lewis, Mundy is not going to be viable?

Let Horton go and then LeBeau needs to come out publically and speak as to why his defense has been getting shredded all year in the 4th QTR

Lewis isn't McFadden.

Actually according to NFL.com he has played in 4 games, and we didn’t even know it which tells me he is covering his man well.

Confused

I get all the inactives sent to my phone before the game and also check ESPN for them and they have all said Lewis is inactive

by redmik on Dec 6, 2009 7:41 PM EST up reply actions

Lewis rarely active

The only game I recall seeing Lewis active was the Denver game when both Troy and Clark were out. At that, I only saw him play on STs.

I know he hasn’t seen any PT in the secondary on any meaningful plays this year, so sorry Steel in FL, he hasn’t seen enough action to know if he can cover his man well, and he really didn’t show much in pre-season.

Disappointing for the 3rd round pick
