Steeler fans suffer through prolonged failure
Once again, proving their dominance over the NFL, the mighty Oakland Raiders charged into Heinz Field (or is it Hines (ward) field?) and humiliated the hapless and once proud Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers suffered yet another crushing defeat at the hands of a superior franchise, having now gone over 300 days since they last tasted even a morsel of success by winning a game known by some as the Super Bowl. (Question: How can it be so super if they play it every year?)
The Raiders who have proven their excellence time and again by compiling an incredible 30-80 record over the past 7 years were convincing in their defeat of the Steelers. Quite an impressive feat given that the Raiders were confused by the time change and failed to show up at Heinz Field until 3 hours after the opening kickoff. The Steelers fans were not amused by the fact that Ben Rothlesbergersteinwicz was sacked 4 times before the 4th quarter. It was particularly concerning to the hometown patrons based on the fact that no one from the Raiders was actually on the field.
The Steelers hope to rebound next week against yet another tough opponent, the Cleveland Browns. The Browns, whose moniker was derived by the color of water flowing from Cleveland faucets, are again an opponent the Steelers can’t take lightly. It is worthy to note that the Browns record over the years has a similar track record of success as the Raiders, having gone a whopping 55-106 since having the franchise return to it’s old stomping grounds, affectionately known as the "mistake by the lake". The Steelers are clearly threatened when matched against such superior foes but are hoping for a one in million break, similar to the time Rothlesbergersteinwicz was able to miraculously grab the "accidentally untied" shoe string of a streaking defensive player during a playoff game a few years ago.
