Offense Coordinator if B.A. is let go?
my pick is the saints offense coordinator i know its brees and his knowledge of the game. but if u had to pick a coor. who would it be. i would like a coordinator with knowlegde of different offenses. not just west-coast or run and gun. but knowledge of different systems i know that hard to find or come by but just think of how hard it would be to gameplan against that coordinator.

kubiak?
why not him? he will be fired at the end of this year…what makes you think the saints will let him go?
Weis
I think Weis could do great things with the talent we have but unless they are already talking to him, he will more than likely be gone in the near future.
First, at least name the Saints offensive coordinator...
I mean, if he’s your guy, you know his name don’t you?
He’s only been the OC there for one season. He was on the staff, and had some important duties prior to becoming OC, so I’m not dismissing his validity as a candidate, but…
Sean Payton calls the plays for N’Orleans, if I’m not mistaken. So he’s never had to actually make those decisions that Bruce Arians apparently sucks so badly at. Plus, until this year he had never even been an offensive coordinator. Take that into account, he has limited experience at the position, and doesn’t make the decisions anyway. Other than currently being part of a prolific offense, what are his areas of expertise?

Arians is not going
We can keep dreaming, but the guy isn’t going anywhere… But since we’re dreaming, how about Mike Shanahan!?!
Shanahan
High probability that he will be hired as HC somewhere next year. Gut tells me he is going to end up in Cleveland. Mangina should get the axe.
The only managing Ben does is he manages to WIN games

Bill Cowher
No one will complain about not running the ball then. But if that happens along with BA Big Ben will leave, too.
Cowher will be an HC next year, no doubt about that

I know, I was just messing around
I don’t think BA will be let go. As I mentioned before in some other related topic here on BTSC, Ben likes Arians as his OC and he won’t let the firing happen.
Hopefully
It is out of Ben’s hands. And hopefully the next OC will fade him away from his injury prone style of football.

I share your hope.
But after reading Blitz’s salary cap post, wonder how much Ben’s 100 million contract, tips the scales towards Arians.

Either Running Backs Coach Kirby Wilson
or some other run-oriented OC.

Mularkey/Gailey
Bruce isn’t going anywhere. And the offense is about the only unit you can’t blame for the disappointing season. But I’d be happy with Mike Mularkey back.
And Kordell Stewart had his best years under Chan Gailey. Give him Ben and these weapons and he’d do fine.
I tend to disagree
Not to whether or not BA is going, as much as we all want that it is probably unlikely, not impossible but unlikely. But I think you can definitely say the offense has contributed to the poor season. They have left a ton of points on the field. They have racked up some nice looking stats but have been highly inconsistent in doing so, not to mention the pick sixes we have given up. The second half of the Denver game is about the only time this year I thought they really looked like they were totally clicking. Everyone has contributed to this mess.
We'll give you Bratkowski
As long as you don’t give us Arians.

The Run and Gun?
While I appreciate your post, I just can’t help but wonder why you would mention the Run and Gun which has been utterly worthless any time an NFL team has tried to run it in the last two or so decades.
Onto your question tho, I personally would like Charlie Weis get a shot. But given that Tomlin likes to hire from within, I think it could be interesting to give Ken Anderson a shot. The guy was a solid QB and a student of Bill Walsh. Anderson was technically the NFL’s first West Coast QB and hes doing a pretty good job with Ben.
I guess the colts offense has been utterly worthless for the last decade or so?

A cheaper alternative
I say just put all the plays run by every team in the league into a big hat and pick them out as the game goes on. Even this would be better than what we’re getting from BA.
Do you want the Steelers as bad as the Pirates?
