Congratulations to the Cards

I know we are all celbrating tonight and rightfully so. Our team battled tonight. We did not win it pretty, but we gutted it out. If you have been watching this team, you appreciate that even more than a blowout. As Tomlin said, we don't look for style points.

But as we celebrate, Its worth tipping our hat to our worthy and talented opponents.  Three weeks before the playoffs, the Cards were considered one of the weakest team to make it in to the post-season.  Three great wins later, anyonbody who was paying attention had dismissed the doormat talk. The Cards had a great run, and they did by playing really well on both sides of the ball.

Although they seemed out-manned at times by the Steelers, the Cards never quit on this game. Down 20-7 in the fourth quarter they battled back with some great plays by future HOF reciever Larry Fitzgerlad.  They also made some huge defensive stops when it counted - stonewalling the Steelers on 6 straight plays inside the 10 at the end of the first Quarter.

In the end they came up short, but you have to hand it to the Cards. They played a hell of a game and came very close to winning it.  During the game you hope your team wins by 50. When its done you appreciate the fact that the other team played a hell of a game.

Congrats to Whis,Russ, Larry, Kurt and the Cards. Congrats to their fans. Thank you guys for a great game.

I agree

It’s really a shame that it had to be this team the Steelers played, and beat. I genuinely wish that this Cardinals team had played another team in another Superbowl. If the Steelers hadn’t been their opponents I would have been totally behind the Cards tonight.

I’m glad the Steelers won, but Arizona played a great game. Now that it’s over(and we won) i can say that i think i’d have been OK with the Cardinals winning. Luckily, i’ll never know for sure.

But- Kurt Warner, Boldin, Fitz, Coach Whis, Russ Grimm, Todd Haley, Sean Morey, Edgerrin James, Gerald Hayes and the rest are a great bunch of guys, and i sincerely hope they get back to another SB and win(unless they’re unlucky enough to play our Stillers again, of course).

They deserve a smaller, slightly less shiny Lombardi Trophy of their own IMHO.

+1

They were great and I have respect for them. They had personal fouls, but nothing cheap meant to hurt someone. They are earning respect in this league, just like us. I wish them all the luck in the world against anyone but the Steelers! haha

Amen

Steelers West was as Classy as Steelers East.

No crying, no cheap shots, no bounties and trash talk, no reality show garbage, no trashy stars making it all about them.

Just football. Good football.

Props to Whis, Grimm and especially Fitz.....

All class guys – and all with solid ties to the ‘burgh. I really, really love watching Fitzgerald. He’s a class guy who does a terrific family proud. I wish there were more like him in sports.

But what’s with Kurt Warner rushing to get dressed and getting out of Dodge after the game? After every win, he hangs around and gives the Lord all the credit at the top of every interview, like Jesus wanted the Cardinals to win and the other team to lose. But I didn’t hear any of that in his post-game interviews after he lost. At least he didn’t blame God for the Harrison pick and runback.

Sorry, folks, but it’s just a game. Somebody’s gonna win, and somebody’s gonna lose, and it’s not that important in the grand scheme of the universe. If you’re gonna PTL every time you win, why not also do it when you lose??

This is NOT a knock against faith. I’m just happy I didn’t have to hear Warner’s sermon, and was able to listen to Benji and Dan Rooney and Hines instead. They praised one another in public – and they practice their different and devout faiths in private, just as they are taught to do in Matthew 6:6.

Hmmm

So much wrong with this, it’s best to leave it alone.
