Nasty Nate Update
I saw this coming. I didn't see a single scenario where we brought him back, but ESPN is reporting that he will be drawing a lot of interest from the Titans. I was going to post a link but it's Insider and I don't think everyone can get to it so...
Will Titans bait Nate with big offer?
Nate Washington | Steelers | Interested: Titans? The relationship between the Pittsburgh Steelers and wide receiver Nate Washington is drawing to a close, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, and one team who could be taking a hard look at Washington this offseason is the Tennessee Titans.
While Washington will always hold the Steelers in high regard after they nurtured him from undrafted free agent to 40-catch contributor in 2008, it appears that the two parties may be calling it quits when free agency begins on February 27. When asked about the level of conversation the team had had with Washington or agent Thomas Tafelski as of yet, Tafelski told the Tribune-Review, "None. I would have thought they would have reached out. We spoke briefly at the Super Bowl."
While seemingly every potential free agent wide receiver will be linked to the Tennessee Titans in the coming weeks, Washington is an option that could be a great fit for what the Titans are lacking. Michael Lombardi, former NFL team executive and current contributor to the National Football Post website, said, "Nate's talent matches what Tennessee is looking for. They're looking for a guy on the outside who can make big plays. He's got the speed to create problems."

I was never a huge Nate fan, but what are the implications here. He could actually be a number one WR there. Justin Gage may have something to say about that but whatever. THOUGHTS?

#2
reciever at least. And I’m not sure he’ll be ready. Only time will tell but he was good at being a #3 reciever and working against #3 coverage guy, defenses forgetting about him and he gets wide open down the field. Now he will be the main focus of defenses that will be trying to stop the Titans passing game. He will be going up against #2 and #1 converage guys and won’t be an afterthought. He will def. have to step up his game and well I don’t know if he can. I hope he does well but not in our expense. It won’t hurt us none because Sweed should step in and do just as good of job as Nate did.

True
There’s a big difference between playing beside Holmes and Ward and being the number one receiver. On top of that I think Collins has already spent his one good year with the Titans (he usually has one good one with each team). Anyhow, I think he would be fair lining up with Gage, I don’t think he’ll be what they need. I have more to say on this but I have to get back to work.

I like Nate but
I found myself frequently frustrated with him.
We can’t keep everyone, so I think he’s gone.
I bet he’s another in a long ling of ex-Steelers never to be heard of again.

NYSteelerFan4; I just posted the same link to the Tribune article in my six pack, sorry I didn’t see this article until after I published it. I updated the sixpack to a link to your debate…

Latest thing ...
I saw runs along this logic trail. Limas is very fast and will learn to catch. Nate can catch but will never be Limas fast. Ergo, we keep Limas and allow Nate to leave. Such is life.

Plus Nate can never learn to grow 3 inches either...

i remember....
Nate dropping several crucial passes in the last 3 years. He improved tremendously this year, i didn’t spill nearly as much beer due to my OH Sh&t Nate fits. So there is hope for Limas

thanks, nate, and best of luck...
Dear Mr. Washington,
I’d like to thank you for your valuable contributions to this past Super Bowl-winning season. Your ability to stretch the field and go after the football led to some big plays that were essential to our success. I am sincerely grateful.
However, you are a receiver, Mr. Washington, and a #3 receiver at that. We have never been an organization very much interested in throwing money at #3 receivers (#3 offensive tackles? that’s another story), and quite frankly, you don’t block very well and you drop the ball more than you should. The young Mr. Sweed seems quite capable of all of these things. Therefore, we bid you adieu, Mr. Washington. If history is a guide (see: Hastings, Andre; Shaw, Bobby; Randle-El, Antwan), you should sign with someone who will overpay you and then retreat to the mediocre anonymity of which you, as a #3 receiver, are worthy.
Best of luck…

Lawl
Let him go to the dirty land of the TenTeeth Titans. I hate em and they stank. There is really hardly any good WR’s on free agency. And its a bad year cause you got Crabtree concerning people.
Hes a receiver and not one that you take to the bank. If they offer him anything over 2mil a year he aint worth it to me

me with Mechem on this one
Sweed’s hands will get better just like Nate’s did and I really like the way he smacked the dawg snot outta that dude in the AFCCG! Just keep learning from Hines and he’ll be fine. No need to overpay for him. Thanks for your productivity and enjoy your millions Nate the Great!

Nate is gone
He isn’t worth WR#2 money and someone will overpay for him just like they did for Randle-El. There is a TON of speed in this years draft and we will pick up a WR this year. Hopefully Dwight "hands of " Stone or I mean Limas Sweed will improve this year.
