Here's a list of players that played exceptionally this season, and if i were putting together a superbowl team these are the athletes I would have at the top of my wishlist. These players must all be awesomely athletic, clutch performers who play best when the game is on the line and come up with timely big plays, and have no character issues. I don't want whiners or complainers that bring down everyone around them, I want winners who do not care about personal accolades, only about the W.

With that said, heres my offence of skilled players.
-Ben Roethlisberger- There's many players with better stats, but few have more wins and few play better when the game is on the line. I simply can't argue with the two time superbowl champ. If only he had an offensive line that could protect him. He may have found his premier receiver in Santonio Holmes.
-Adrian Peterson-This guy is just a flatout play maker, teams continue to stack the box against the vikings because of their weak passing game and he continues to dominate. He's got power, speed and size. He could improve his carrying ability since he is slightly fumble prone, also he could be a better receiver out of the backfield.
-Heath Miller-A tough guy who does everything well. A very good receiver with great hands who never seems to drop the ball. A great and dependable blocker.
-Jason Witten-Very similar to Heath in that he does everything well. He may be a better receiver than Heath but that is simply splitting hairs, the cowboys throw the ball more but Jason also seems to be Romo's favourite target.
-Larry Fitzgerald- I dont need to explain this, you all watched the playoffs, he's almost uncoverable. He's got the size of a linebacker with speed that nearly unrivaled.
-Andre Johson- Very similar player to Larry with I think slightly worse hands but still a great player. He almost single handedly carried the Texans offence with his ability to go up and attack the balla and bring it down in double coverage.
-Hines Ward- Maybe not the most skilled player but one of the toughest who loves to throw huge blocks on unsuspecting defenders. He's one of those players you love to play with and have on your team and hate to play against. Oh ya, he's also got very sticky hands and is a great route runner.
Now for the Defence.
James Harrison-Great pass rusher, run stuffer, stripper, tackler, ferocious hitter and he makes big plays when the team needs them most. He's nearly unblockable who loves getting after the quarterback to hit him or strip the ball.
Lamar Woodley- In his first season of regular play he dominated with his bull rush to put consistent pressure on opposing QBs. He's very good at just about everything else that is asked of him in Lebeau's defence. A very aggressive player who hits like a champ and will consistently beat a single blocker. In every playoff game he has ever played he has 2 sacks.
Ray Lewis- This guy is crazy, he hits like a truck and is one hell of a leader and motivator who makes everyone on his team want to do whatever it takes to win. Watch his hit on Steelers rookie running back Rashard Mendenhall that broke his shoulder and you'll know exactly what I mean.
James Farrior-The leader on the best defence in football, Farrior is a fearless hitter who because of his playing in a 3-4 takes on linemen regularly and wins. One of the best run stuffers in the league, you cant run the ball at him.
Antoine Winfield-Great player who is multi-dimensional. He covers premier receivers very well and comes up to stop the run with intensity. He loves making hits on running backs and taking on blockers. The perfect mix of a corner, speed and quickness to cover with the fearlessness to make hits all over the field. Its very tough to run to his side of the field.
Namdi Asomugha- A bit more one dimensional than Antoine but he covers great receivers very well. Opposing offences usually give up trying to throw to his assignment.
Ed Reed-Amazing at reading the quaterback and making plays on the ball while its in the air, then returning the ball for points. Unfortunatley when he's not doing this he can become invisible with no impact on the game.
Troy Polamalu-A great safety who is well rounded. He can sit back in coverage and create turnovers, cover tightends and running backs downfield and even cover receivers but he may be best at being the 8th man in the box and making tackles all over the field. He is a missile who flys around the field and hits with no regard for his own safety.
