It's not embeddable, so you'll have to click out to watch the clip, but Big Ben Roethlisberger swung by David Letterman's digs in New York City on Monday to talk about the 27-23 victory, the second SB victory for Roethlisberger in just five short years. Ben is up to his usual self. Being a good dude but not quite hitting the mark in terms of his comedic delivery and overall smoothness.
Hey, all I know is the QB of my favorite team is a total baller; a once in a generation type of gamer and competitor; and exactly the guy I want QB'ing this team for the next 7-10 years. As for the other stuff? Well, as Mike Tomlin said weeks ago, people get too preoccupied with style points. Guess we might just have to settle for great QB and leader and not get too greedy. :)

Best part is when Ben is telling the kids at home to drag their toes like Santonio.
“Boys and gi……All you young wide receivers out there…”

i actually was pretty proud of him. i thought he handled himself nicely and represented the classiness of the steelers. good job, ben.

Super Bowls
Man, we have a lot of optimistic people on here (5+??) :). I voted for 1, just like the last time we had this poll. I think Ben is young enough that he’ll likely win at least one more, but I also remind myself how tough it is to get there. We may be seeing the beginning of the Tomlin/Roethlisberger dynasty, but I’m too cautious to start thinking like that.

You are so
right. It is just so hard to get to SB. With how Ben plays and how he gets hit, he will not be playing into his 40’s. I voted for 3 more. When Ben won his 1st SB, I believe he stated he wanted to win 5 Sb’s in his career. After Sundays game, I am finding it hard to be a realist. The kid finds a way to get what he wants.
Can I please have another glass of kool-aid. :)

:)
Well, not many QBs make it into their 40s. I expect him to play another 7-10 years, depending on how much punishment he takes in the next 2-4 years.

he can always evolve his game some
Elway used to run more. Same with S Young.
There were times when Warner just unleashed the ball in the SB to avoid a sack. Brees does it all the time. Manning too. Ben can adapt to that and just eliminate some of the beatdowns he takes simply by sacrificing the possibility for the miracle play sometimes.

Hope he does
It wouldn’t hurt for Ben to have some come along to the be equivalent of Terrell Davis, either, would it?

lol

brillaint. subtle but so true. And to think he’s really kind of aloof in the way he goes about some of his business makes it all the more remarkable. But I agree, he just gets it done and has his best years ahead of him. Such a vast wealth of exp and knowledge at his age and hes not yet in his physical prime.
