Jarius Byrd CB Oregon
Jarius Byrd CB 5'10/207 Oregon had been projected as a mid to high second round draft pick. He was an outstanding CB for Oregon and MVP of their bowl game, but he injured a groin and wasn't able to run at the combine or at his Pro Day. He was a player interviewed by the Steelers at the Combine. His bad luck could be the Steelers good luck. Like Heath Miller, Jarius Byrd could slip to the bottom of the second round. If the Steelers do not grab a CB in the first round, they could grab a bargain at the bottom of the second. He is a Steelers kind of CB. He has the weight and is good against the run. He also grabbed 5 INTs this past year.

Looks like a fighter
And a possible return man, nice find.
Great prospect
Good size, tackles well, 17 interceptions in three years at Oregon plus some return ability although he is not a speedster. He Is also projected as a safety so he provides versatility. Good bloodlines, his father was Chargers cornerback Gill Byrd who went to a couple Pro Bowls. This would be a great pick in the second round.
Hope we get him
Based on last year’s offseason, I have to say, if you like him lifer, then I hope we get him. I seem to remember you talking about Moore and Fox as potential FA pickups way before I had heard of them. Especially if we can get him at a value position like late 2nd round.

Like the kid's style.
Definitely a good crop of DB’s in Oregon.
To the tune of the classic children's song "This Old Man" (the part with nick nack patty whack)
