2009 schedule wishlist

OK, since the sked is being announced tomorrow night I was wondering if anyone wanted to weigh in with what they would like to see in terms of times and place in the season to play our opponents.

Mine:

More 1 o'clock kicks

Definitely a Thanksgiving game at Detroit

Late season matchup in Chicago with snow

Early season trip to Denver ( I think that is the farthest road trip this year)

At Baltimore at night (Monday, Thursday, or Sunday night ok)

A Saturday night game (I really miss the afternoon games they used to have on Saturday late in the season)

Miami later in the season

End the season either vs Baltimore or Oakland

Jay Cutler early early early

Since we play Chicago i want an early shot at Jay on his new team. If he plays us early and we rub his face in the dirt, itll give him early questions about why did he leave Denver and their offense for Chicago. Make him wise up to realise he aint as good as he thinks and that he had it easy in Denver

Or you'll encounter a team like the Jets in 2008

Did exceedingly well with Favre early on, and then fell apart late in the year.

My best game plan is to sit on the bench and call out specific instructions like 'C'mon Boog,' 'Get ahold of one, Frank,' or 'Let's go, Brooks.' -Earl Weaver

Thanksgiving's off the board already...

and,
A) Those 4:00 pm kickoffs mean more national exposure (good for fans in other markets)
B) Agreed about meeting Cutler early in Chicago vs. late in season (plus, I don’t want to sit in the snow while watching that game!)
C) “C” is for cicking the chit out of cleveland twice a year!!

Let's Go!

agreed on A

all those 4pm kickoffs were a good reason why I got to watch so many games in HD last year… plus I never bought the thing about the ‘4pm curse’ – they schedule bigger opponents in the primetime games, therefore you’re not as likely to do well…

just saw the turkey day games

sorry about that one, you are right GB at Detroit in the early matchup

Probably want Oakland early

JaMarcus Russell is not an starting caliber QB. If we don’t play Oak town before they switch to Garcia we might face another 2006-esque loss to Oakland. That was the most painful loss of that lost season.

That one

made me sick to my stomach. Nothing’s worse than losing to the Raiders while they’re having their worst season in years. I want to see a monday night matchup in Baltimore also. I want to see John Stallworth on the sidelines next to Tomlin wearing an equally “puffy” jacket. I want to see Hank Williams Jr rocking out on his “steel” guitar. I want to see another lombardi. Hell I just want it to be football season again….

+1!

This is Pittsburgh Steeler Troy Polamalu getting knocked around by the Pacific Ocean in Hawaii yesterday...
Minutes later, Troy caught the ocean going over the middle and smacked it right in the mouth. The ocean fumbled, Troy recovered and ran it into the endzone. The ocean never messed with Troy again.

Living in Colorado and only getting to see the Steelers play live once and a while I would love for Pittsburgh to come to Denver in September this year, say week 2 or 3. It would be awesome for the Defending World Champs to play their first road game in the Mile High City. However as long as they win, I don’t care if its week 1 or 17!!! Go Steelers!!

I’m anti 1 o’clock games. It’s far easier for me to see every minute of the late afternoon games.

And since all Steeler related decisions should revolve around making my life easier I’m sure it will happen.
