Mock Draft Help

Star-divide

Hey guys (and girls) I am going to be putting out a mock draft a day or two before the actual thing, so I was wondering, are there any players you would trade up for? What you you be willing to give up to move into the top-10 of any round? Im mainly thinking the 2nd and on, but if you think giving up next year's first, this year's first and a 3rd to move up to number 8 or something is worth it, let me know. Thanks guys, Mike

The steelers will not sacrifice next year’s first round pick. I think the steelers always have some guys on the board that they would be willing to trade up for, but I have no idea who they are. Not sure if they would try to move to the top-10, it would depend on what the deal was.

If guys fall to the mid-round I would expect the steelers to move up. The steelers have extra draft picks and their roster is mostly filled out, meaning that they need quality at this point instead of just extra guys in camp.

I could see the steelers moving up in the 2nd to draft a guy like Wood if he falls to the middle and the don’t draft a center in the first. If you want to draft most accurately for the steelers, I believe you should keep your eye open for any player that has fallen much further than predicted, is an area of need, and is likely to be taken by a team between them and who they are trading with.

Don't worry about the haters. Haters only hate.

Yeah, if we get BPA at #1.32 who isn’t a center, I could see us moving up in the 2nd to grab Wood or possibly Unger.

They could trade up in the second to ensure

getting Jamon Meredith. I have him as our second round pick but he might be a little out of our range.

It's true what they say...Even the NFL's Big Wigs hate the Steelers. On the plus side, I can now tell my future grand kids about Hines Ward and how the NFL made rules because of him. Roger Goodell, you make me sick.

Brandon Gibson, WR, Washington State

We should bundle some of our late picks and draft him in early round 5. He played at Washington State in an inferior system (so they say…) and could be a value pick. Solid possession receiver. A middle class man’s HInes Ward.

Also, why is no one giving Herman Johnson (OG, LSU) any respect? He doesn’t move well, for sure, except that he moves straight ahead while pushing nose tackles extraordinarily well. That’s a very useful ability in the AFC north. Doing that could be just the thing to improve our running game and, by extention, cause other teams to take our play-action seriously. So, just saying, if he slips to round three, I think he’s worth the effort and expense to get him somewhere around spot 75.

Who knew?

a wide angle look at the draft

The way I see it, the Steelers could use depth in the following positions:

1. Offensive Line
2. Defensive Line
3. Defensive Backfield
4. Wide Receiver/Returner

A bruiser back with good hands who can move the pile would be nice, too.

Keeping in mind they have nine picks and the strength of the draft regarding positions, how would the members here allocate their picks? Just curious.
