I am still scratching my head over how the Steelers won the Super Bowl with such a bad offensive line. I decided to see if any team has won it with a worse line. I chose to use average yard per carry to measure run blocking, and number of sacks to measure pass blocking. Sacks have only been an official stat since the early 80s, so that is how far back I went. I looked at each Super Bowl winner, and found that only one had a lower average yard per rush (01 Pats). Only one team allowed more sacks (84 Raiders). Our line was number two in each category- in the same year and still won the Super Bowl! This confirmed for me what I believed - this was the worst offensive line ever on a championship team. How did we do it? As I have told my son numerous times, we have a great defense, and a great QB. Now, if Arians will just realize that Ben is how we get to the promised land, so let him win it for you. Oh, and lets draft a top offensive lineman!
