The Curse

With the 2009 NFL Draft this weekend, the cover athelete of Madden 10 is to be released Friday.  The final three candidates were released today and two of the nine are apart of your world champion Pittsburgh Steelers.  I was just curious as to if anyone believes in this curse and if you think it will affect our season if one of the Steelers are picked.  I for one believe in this curse and the stats of previous cover atheletes show what has happened

Hopefully – Since Madden is retiring, maybe EASports will pick a non Steeler, even though he(Madden) is ’head over heels" for TroyP..

GO STEELERS!!!!!

personally I would pick any one but a Steeler, unless it was Deebo – “can’t curse him”

Hoping it's not one of ours

Pick the Cardinal; he went to the pro bowl, won an NFC trophy (whatever that’s worth)

Curse Shmurse!

Farve avoided the so called curse…didn’t play as great as he did the previous year but he was with a different team etc. etc. Vince Young…come on seriously! What was that RB from Seattle…oh yeah Alexander…ummm that was no curse…that was meeting the Steelers in the SB and getting exposed. Alexander is soft. That’s the last 3 years.

Oh man Maddend Curses…Super Bowl hangovers..UGH! Go out and play! Is it August yet? I need pre season and a Madden holiday.

I suppose somewhat, but I think people make too big a deal out of these things. I would love to hear Tomlin comment on this.

Potential Tomlin comments...

“We don’t buy into that hocus-pocus theory.”

“We are already cursed with not being perfect.”

“Every morning when I come to work, I walk past five Lombardis, not five exorcisms.”

“I am not a proponent of the Madden curse.”

“Not interested. A curse is an excuse for losers losing.”

“Talk to me about the curse when there’s two minutes in a football game. Then we shall see if it matters.”

“I refuse to acknowledge any curse. We live week-to-week and we’re preparing this week to be at our best… I don’t want our level of preparation or focus to be in response to the cover of a video game.”

I got it

Why don’t they put the whole league on the cover? Then there will be a lock out!

3 months from now

“Commissioner Roger Goodell has decided to eliminate the ‘problem’ of home field advantage and therefore moved every regular season game to Wimbly’s Butterfield Stadium in Lankenmshire England.

the playoffs and Superbowl will now be held in the People’s Repubilc of China

Goodell: ‘China is a hot new market, and years of repressive conditioning has taught them to understand the need to hammer down the nail that sticks out, so unlike US fans they don’t have as many complaints about some of the leagues new rules’

Some of those new rules include:

*A four game suspension for players who do not bow their heads in shame after a score
*No tackling a player until that player has come to a complete stop, had 10 seconds of mental preparation, and then gives the OK with a thumbs up gesture.
