With the 169th Pick of the 2009 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers Select Frank Summers, RB, UNLV
I am trying to contain my excitement for this pick, but to be perfectlly honest I am extremely giddy to see Frank "The Tank" Summers sporting black and gold next season. Summers is a 5'11, 245lb bruising running back from UNLV that had a productive college career. Summers spent two season playing junior college football, then transferred to UNLV and shattered numerous records at the school, including leading the team in rushing and receiving touchdowns last season.
Summers' will certainly draw comparisons to former Steelers like Barry Foster and Jerome Bettis, and hopefully he will be able to live up to the high expectations that those of us who have been following him during the draft process have created.
Check out this video as well for some insight into Summers and some cool footage from High School when Summers also handled kick off duties for his team.

My favorite part
Knocks the kick returner on his ass… and stays on the sideline to help the guy up.
That’s violence on the field without being a punk off of it. And that’s Steelers football.
guys, I think
the FO must check out this site a lot. cause what r the chances every1 wants the tank and we get him. i was just drinking a beer watching the draft and the nba playoffs and i saw we got him and ? what every1 thought
When we hit you, you don't get up. When you hit us, we get up laughing.
One thing is for sure
IF those bozos on our OL don’t block, the Tank will run them over. The Tank and Mendy in the same backfield… scary! Then throw a healthy FWP in there….. Boing!
damn, a bunch of thos highlights have him
bein taken down by 4-8 guys. i like the part wher he nos hes goin down, but slams the usc defender and the dud goes flat on his ass in a split second. we got our dash and now we add the smash. get ready ray ray!
When we hit you, you don't get up. When you hit us, we get up laughing.
he is listed at different heights and weights in a variety of sites
your always so pleasant

yeah R.E.
shouldnt you be commenting on the Arizona Cardinal’s website? I’m pretty sure you denounced the Steelers, no? I remember you on their blog saying that it was a well known fact that Holmes and Taylor were well known to the pitt police as criminals and were on a ‘watch list’. You disgust me.
YEAA BABY
Just got back from being confirmed. I love it, Frank the Tank is a Steeler.
It's true what they say...Even the NFL's Big Wigs hate the Steelers. On the plus side, I can now tell my future grand kids about Hines Ward and how the NFL made rules because of him. Roger Goodell, you make me sick.

WOOHOO!
Now we don’t have to worry about a Steeler Running Back getting stuffed at the goal line!
I knew that we would draft him, and featured Frank on my Y360 page since thursday
Many Steeler fans are excited now!
Move over, Bus …..We now gotta Tank

2 back rotation in '10 - The Tank and Mendenhall ?
Let’s hope he’s as good as advertised … he certainly could be …
Steelers don’t really need another Center – they think Stapleton could be the C of the future and you gotta love the G combo of Kemo and Urbik … nasty.
Stapleton too small for C
he is only 6’3 285, much to small to line up over Ngata or Shaun Rogers, that was Mahan’s biggest problem…Hartwig is 6’4 312 and still gave up 6’5 sacks

Stapleton came in at 285
He isn’t 285 anymore. He plays with great leverage.
PLEASE ignore the Hartwig sack statistic. It’s been debunked. People who know say he was our best offensive lineman last year. He had revolving doors next to him at G. It’s hard to assign blame for sacks on IOL without knowing blocking assignments.
Nevertheless, I will admit I’m not sure of Stapleton as our long-term C, because in my mind we need a brawler who can get to the 2nd level. I like Stapleton as a career backup, could start, but not the next HoF Center.
Everyone after Unger, Mack, and Wood were too slow. And Shipley is like half of Stapleton’s size.

I am just going to trust our front office, I guess they know something I don’t, maybe I will be pleasantly surprised with our O line next year…

yeah, this dude actually knows how to get YAC and fall forward
no more carey davis stopping 1 ft. short of the goal line… and it looks like he may be able to provide the same versatility that davis does…
The best highlight is the one where he knocks over two USC guys who were probably drafted 5 rounds ahead of him. The Tank is an equal opportunity mauler.
