Michael Vick going to Pittsburgh!?
Today in Sportscenter, Mark Schlereth said that he could see Vick going to the Pittsburgh Steelers because they would help him follow the right path. I think this is ridiculous, and that there's no way it would happen! What do you think?

I'd love to see it
A very athletic, talented guy, for a reasonable price to back up Ben. Pittsburgh, like Schlereth said would be an ideal fit for him to rebuild his character and his integrity. Not to mention gather a few SB rings along the way. Ben and Vick in the same backfield would be sick!

Stay a fan of baseball if you want to man love any player without rspect to his accomplishments on the field.
Yes MV is fun to watch. But don’t confuse that with real talent that could add something here in the Burgh.

DO IT
Lol j/k.
While I think we COULD reform him, that isnt our MO. We dont pick up criminals, or Bengals players. I believe we have ability but not the desire. We prefer to pick up stray animals, not rabid dogs.

I wouldn't mind it, but he's the last thing we need...
It would be nice to have Michael Vick as Ben’s backup. But I’ll be just as happy with Dennis Dixon being the #2.
If he came here for the league min, I’d love to have him aboard.
But not a penny more.

As stated in other posts.
Vick is a scumbag piece of trash. I would have a very hard time if the Steelers picked up this piece of shit!
The very existence of flamethrowers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

The Steeler organization
from coaches to players to FO could handle the rehabilitation of VY. I just don’t see we gain anything from getting him and having to let go a backup at some other position.
I mean who would you suggest and do you have facts to prove VY is an upgrade.

could happen
this could happen he lives in the same neighbourhood as mike tomlin… hes a mobile quarterback and could help dennis dixon transform into beast of a player. he would get the league minimum for the year something such of 800k that is within the cap room. we have no backup and if ben goes out for the season on a super bowl run (most likely) were screwed we cant rely on 1 year dixon to get us to the 7th ring. would the steeler organisation do it with all the backlash? well there will be protests vick is a guy you love to watch or dispise him, the steelers have millions of fans they wont just quit on the team because 1 guy came thats just sad and if you do then your not a true fan, look at the bengal fans they just manage to cling onto there support although there a convict team.

...and...
if Tony Dungy was his mentor…he sure didn’t learn a hell of alot….and I mean about being a decent person….also, I can’t see him being willing to play 2nd fiddle to anyone.

No way
I swear to you, I will NEVER watch another Steelers game if they pick up Vick. I will lose all my respect for the organization. We have let guys go for offenses a LOT less serious than what this piece of crap did. And how do you think the team would welcome a dog killer? Ben raises money for police dogs, and the entire team is dog lovers…just look at the Steelers and their dogs calendar. The Steelers do everything to ensure that they are the boy scouts of the NFL. And bringing Vick in would severely tarnish that image. I lost the respect I had for Tomlin for saying that he thinks he deserves a second chance. Vick should still be in jail.
Frankly, I don’t give a crap about the player. I care about Vick as a human. If he did drugs, who cares. If he beat the crap out of his wife, who cares. But killing a defenseless animal, puppies none-the-less, he should burn in hell for that. And so help me, if the Steelers pick him up, I will NEVER watch another game.

Re: No way
AversaS, you sound like a complete idiot. you would rather accept a guy that beats his wife and do drugs but in the meantime and you will watch the team that signs him…on the flip side of that, you would object watching a team that signed a player for dogfighting??!!!…that is by far the most stupidest thing EVER!!!!!

that’s cause he’s no longer capable of judging james harrison and santonio holmes, now that they are heroes.

I agree with blitzburgh4real
What Vick did was terrible, but compared to what other players have done and got away with (Killing someone while DUI anyone?), it looks minuscule. If Rooney signs Vick, he must have a good reason. We know the prospect of another talented player isn’t clouding his judgment (passed on TJH). Do I want to see him in the Pitt? Not particularly, but again if he does end up there, Rooney will have a damn good reason.

and you all are so f-in innocent!
Give the guy a shot. I hope they land him this week…makes sense from a rehab perspective and the Rooneys will know how to handle this from a PR perspective.
I highly doubt any PETA supporters in their right mind would set foot near Heinz field.
I don’t agree with what he did..but if any of you idiots that don’t like him or won’t support the Steelers again you are fools. Do you eat meat? I’m guessing yes. How the F do you think chickens and cows are treated?? I will tell you one thing….go to PETA’s website and then chime back in here. He paid his dues…
thank you

the farming argument is that the real horror unfolds upon MILLIONS of unsuspecting gophers, snakes, rodents, etc that have THEIR FURRY INNOCENT BODIES MANGLED IN FARM MACHINERY every year, harvesting wheat for the “meat is murder” crowd.
but that’s beside the point.
children are raped and murdered, every day.
people are tortured around the globe, daily, with your tax dollars.
yet people muster up all their righteous anger over someone who ate a few puppies, because it’s on espn.
people need to understand that professional athletes aren’t paid to be role models. quit judging and go back to work.
