Lamar Woodley on Philip Rivers
I found this through Lamar's website. It was from an interview he did for a magazine called Urban Ink.
The link is through his site:http://www.lamarrwoodley56.com/
Anyway, the question from the interview goes as follows:
Urban Ink: Out of all the quarterbacks you sacked in the playoffs, which gave you the most satisfaction?
Lamar Woodley: I'm going to say Philip Rivers. The first time I sacked him, I got up and did my little celebration. He started talking trash and saying, "Get back in the huddle" and woofin'. So I told myself that the next time he'd pay the price. The next time I got him, I took him on what I call the "rollercoaster." He met the ground and I stood over him. When he got up he was a little woozy. On the next play he threw the ball away before I could get him again. After I hit him that time he couldn't say anything and I didn't have to celebrate. I just wanted to look in his eyes and let him know that Number 56 put him in the dirt. Two weeks later I got fined $15,000 for that hit, and that definitely hurt me in the pocket.
The hit can be seen here at youtube. The quality is poor, but wait till the end where the jumbotron replay is shown.

Bar None, Least Favorite QB in the NFL...
I remember the hit on the crybaby, hypocrite QB from SD. I loved it. I’m glad to hear how enjoyable it was for Woodley, too. Let’s hope there’s a lot more where that came from. Watching 17 get knocked to the ground is my favorite part of Chargers games. I don’t like Cutler, but the biggest pot calling the kettle black moment was watching Rivers make fun of Jay. Granted they’re both whiny children, but take a look in the mirror Rivers. Ben’s got two rings, hell even Eli scrounged one up. Rivers… try getting to a big game and actually playing well before running your mouth next time.
To be fair, Rivers did more than anyone should expect in the playoff game. Our defense was a bit shaky with a woozy Troy, and they put plenty of points up. If it weren’t for a suddenly intact running game and a great return to light the fires by the Holmes we could have been in trouble, but our offense bailed the D out that day.
They owed them.
Don't worry about the haters. Haters only hate.
True...
I will give him the credit he deserves. They played tough in that game, as I think most would expect they would, no doubt.
That playoff outing he had with the ACL torn or whatever it was, was certainly a gutty performance aswell. He has done things that I think are impressive.
I just don’t like his attitude, and that attitude has worn off on his team, as evident by the tantrums thrown after the loss to the Pats two years ago I believe. As the QB of a team, you have an obligation to carry yourself with a bit of dignity and respect for both your opponents, and the league. I don’t see it in him.

Question:
Where’d we get Laserface from? New by me, I’ve seen it a few times down the page, just wanted to know where the wise ass comments come from before I use them myself. Kind of a fact checking type thing.

Ha, it’s a kissing suzy kolber (http://kissingsuzykolber.uproxx.com/tag/laserface) thing. I just kind of went with it. He also twitter’s http://twitter.com/KingLaserface

Wow
I got like cold chills reading that. Getting me pumped up.
Oh and Rivers your least favorite? I thought every Steelers’ fan’s least favorite player was always Brady?
"I got like cold chills reading that."
I know man, me too. The whole part about 56 “put him in the dirt.” Is it just me, or do we draft just the most badass bunch of dudes ever?
How long till football season again?!
I think in general we hate Brady, but despise Laserface.
Brady is at least a great QB, whatever else you can say about him.
Don't worry about the haters. Haters only hate.
Which is why I hate him more.
Its not worth my time to hate a guy who cannot beat us or even show up against us.

The difference for me is I can respect Brady. Take Belichick and remove Brady and no amount of cheating improves his career from what it was with the Browns. His NE teams were decent but not contenders, then Brady showed up and led the team to glory.
Even his vaunted defensive genius most of the time involves throwing together a defense that can play average while Brady kills the other team.
Rivers is a punk. I hate punks. I hate NE, and I hate Brady when he plays us, but other than that, watch the kid play, he’s amazing. He and Ben are the best QB’s to watch in today’s NFL, unless you like drama or semaphore, then go see Rivers or Peyton.
Sure he can score goals, but can he cook?

Just when I thought I couldn’t love Lamar Woodley more. That is just excellent.
New England quarterback will always be my most loathed (hence the reason I never say his name), but Laserface is a complete ass. I still remember him jawing at Colts fans in that playoff game two seasons ago, while Billy Volek was leading the Chargers to victory over Indy. What a douche.
wow
I didn’t even realize how much I love LaMarr til right. this. very. second.
and those pics from the interview…minus the “model”…wow.
Adds even more fuel to my #cougarintraining course.
Ok, now done daydreaming…back to football….
Steelergurl
LOL
Cougarintraining? HAHAHA
That article just goes to show why I even picked my SN on this site, Woodley is a damn animal man.
I love being a Steelers fan, Its like a gift from the man upstairs

LayinTheWoodley...
I have liked your handle the whole time…I started saying that phrase two years ago, but you were slick enough to use it as your name! Love it and Mr. Woodley…good to re-live Lamar planting that d-bag in the dirt. LMMFAO!!! GO STEELERS!!!
SteelersFnRule
Thanks man, I appreciate it. I used to say that when I would watch him in college from time to time, and just loved it when we drafted him, and figured it was a fitting handle.

Thank God
for LaMarr Woodley,,, That man is the man.
Phil Rivers got what was coming to him.
It's true what they say...Even the NFL's Big Wigs hate the Steelers. On the plus side, I can now tell my future grand kids about Hines Ward and how the NFL made rules because of him. Roger Goodell, you make me sick.

Serves him right...
Thing is, Lamarr has yet to feast on other Quartered Backs and will need to sample all varieties of the dish before settling in on a true favorite. Granted he has had multiple servings of the Phillip Rivers special.
I personally want him to desire the flesh of Flacco.
Bert is probably snuggled up with Ernie right now....
he was having nightmares about our pass rush getting even better!
Is it to early to say?
Second best, second round draft choise in the history of the steelers.
After Jack Lambert.
Or am I missing somebody?
What about Ricardo Coclough?
You missed Dermontti and heading way back Jack Ham has got to be up there.
Woodley is young. IF Woodley continues being just as good or more realistically improves, and IF Woodley stays a steeler, the possibility exists that he could surpass all the #2s that have come before him. It won’t be easy, but he has the potential. The kid is good.
Don't worry about the haters. Haters only hate.
I <3 Lamarr Woodley
Favourite player on defense
Truly, madly, deeply….Its unhealthy lol

the rollercoaster!
Can’t wait for the thrill ride in 2009! Actually not me personally, I’ll watch from a distance thank you.
Woodley is the man! Hopefully he can work on his endurance this year in case we don’t get a bye week this time. Other than that I am not aware of any holes in his game.
Ah to love a wolverine. It feels dirty but I like it.
"It was an attrition football game and you know we like that."
to love a wolverine..
Oh, despite my deep love for his pass rushing abilities..and the amazing play I witnessed last year.
As a Buckeye fan, I do find it hard to hide my smiles when he hits those QB’s
Should have, could have, but didn't

I love how this article sheds some light into the happiness he derived from that sack of rivers.
"It was an attrition football game and you know we like that."
NICE!
Rivers reminds me of that typical jock, douche bag that used to pick on kids smaller than him. I think it’s odd that a qb spends so much energy trash talking other players instead of setting an focusing on the game. Besides whats he gonna do to a LB?
it never got weird enough for me
Stand still and get rag dolled lol
Or maybe stare them down and hope they dont come near him
I dont see it

I love Woodley
But I’m a UofM fan. I know he was unhappy with the school but man the kid could play. I was so pumped when the Steelers drafted him and all the people who asked why you would draft a second LB I said, because he’s better than the guy you got in the first round. He was good enough to start in LeBeau’s defense as a rookie and handled cover responsibilities. That’s amazing, even more so for a converted end.
Sure he can score goals, but can he cook?
