BTSC Steelers Daily Six Pack- Single Game Tickets on Sale 06.20 Edition

IX- The Steelers will be selling a select number of single game tickets via Ticketmaster on June 20th at 10am.  The tickets will sell out extremely quickly, so if you're interested you will need to have to do some preparation and be ready to purchase before 10am on Saturday the 20th. Good Luck!

X- HighSchoolSteeler had the breaking news last night via Steelers.com on the Steelers new Super Bowl XLIII rings.  I personally think they are very impressive and although I am certainly no authority on Super Bowl rings, these ones are really, really cool.  I wish their were some pictures available of the players with the rings on, or the new rings versus the 2005 rings which by one report are almost half the size of this years.

XIII- Santionio Holmes' misdemeanor drug charges from an October 23rd incident where he was pulled over near the Mellon arena have officially been dropped.  Holmes stated he's "glad it's over", and as a Steeler fan I am too.  Check out One for the Other Thumb for some strange twitter news from the Super Bowl M.V.P.

Star-divide

XIV- Miami Dolphins' linebacker Joey Porter isn't the only Dolphin that talks a big game.  Dolphins' middle linebacker Channing Crowder and rookie head coach Rex Ryan of the New York Jets have been getting into a little bit of verbal tussle.  Stay tuned for some more good stuff as the war of words heated up today with Crowder saying:

Rockem-sockem-robots-game_medium

"I'd have beat the hell out of that big old joker. Or if he really wants to get retro, my daddy or my uncle could have handled him.

XL- Former Steelers tight end Jay Riemersma is running for a congressional seat in the second district in Michigan.  Riemersma hasn't officially declared his candidacy but according to reports he has filed papers to run as a republican for a seat in the house.

XLIII- An interesting little piece that compares Rafael Nadal to James Harrison.  The article is pretty interesting as it goes through some of Defensive Player of the Year, James Harrison's struggles in adapting to the life of an NFL star.  It gives a completly different perspective on Harrison's thoughts toward his visit to the White House and is a pretty good read if you give it a chance.  Two days in a row the Six Pack references the sport of tennis, what the hell?

Both Rings

The Post Gazette has a comparison of both rings. I copied the picture and will try to post it.
Sorry, it is beyond my meager skills but here is the link: http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/09161/976217-66.stm. Look at the video link.

Im glad they used a picture of Ben’s ring. That is good stuff. Only his name could fill up the entire side of it…

I WAS really impressed with the ring...

When I saw the picture of it. It looks gorgeous, and the design is incredible. But once I saw it on a guy’s finger it kind of looks stupid. Its huge and bulky. Kinda looks silly. But I guess thats how it works, always have to have more diamonds than the previous year. One day they are going to have to turn them into frigging bracelets because there will be too much bling.

Oh, and Crowder def. won the war of words. Ryan made himself look like an idiot for saying he did not know a starting LB on a division rival….WHOOPS!

I wonder if Rex Ryan saying that

Was just a way to say that the defenses in the AFC East are nothing special

I like the mentality hes giving the Jets tho

If you watch...

A lot of the Ex-ballers who do sportscasting wear their SB rings quite often.

Football and Tennis...

Makes perfect sense to me: Two sports in which REAL MEN compete and push their bodies to the extreme. Brute physical strength and endurance are absolutely necessary, but often it is the player who can anticipate well and out-think his oponent who will be the victor. Try maintaining your concentration, mental strength and fortitude over a five-hour marathon tennis match and you’ve got my respect!
Check out pictures of Rafael Nadal and just tell me he’s a wuss…!
(Of course, James Harrison is a bit scarier, but I think you get my point.)

Anyways, gotta go—I’ve got Deebo applying the 2nd coat of wax to my car right now, should give him a little break from time to time…! :)

In that video, lebeau kind of looks like clint eastwood.

Wow

They are ridiculously huge! It looks like they took the face off of a Rolex and made a ring out of it. Just seeing the picture of the ring is nothing until you see them on the players hands.

Rings? They are brooches someone made into a ring...

those are some serious BLING rings…not sure anyone can really “wear” them.
And at that size, even if you go into broadcasting, I think your hand might hurt…
betcha they take them off soon as they get into the green room.

The NYT article yesterday was good (and no, not linking cuz I’m lazy, but google news is your friend) and had a great quote from Starks at the end.

There's an article on NFL.com

With a short video to boot. I didn’t read the full article, kind of pressed for time today, this job keeps getting in the way of my Steelers time, but here’s the link.

Kudos DYM, anytime you can include a Rockem Sockem Robots pic, you know it’s a good six-pack.
