Steelers Sign Wallace, Harris, and Shipley to 3 year deals

That's 6 out of the 9 signed.

Star-divide

Interesting that they signed a 6 and 7th rounder to 3 year deals. The specifics of the contract have yet to be released, but now all that remain our Ziggy, Urbik, and Johnson.

Players released:

"...defensive end Jeff Bradley, long-snapper Mark Estermyer, wide receivers Jayson Foster and Cedric Goodman, quarterback Kevin McCabe and fullback Ryan Powdrell."

No real surprises. With Powdrell out it's clearly Frank Summer's show.

Thoughts?

Cuts and signings

If they could only cut or sign one player a day, there would be something to ponder each day until training camp starts. I know it’s not much but June is the longest month of the year.

Even though we seem to have a decent group of recievers...

I am really interested to see what Tyler Grisham can do. He was a player at Clemson and if we need a number 5 WR, I’m pulling for him. I do like the projected top 5 without him so, I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place. Depth…very nice. If only it was proven depth. I guess we can’t have it all.

Yea I've heard of him

and apparently he’s a good down-field blocker, similar to Ward which will earn him favor points any day in this organization. I’ll be rooting for him, but I don’t think we see him this year. My projection for the WR Core is: Ward, Holmes, Sweed, McDonald, then Wallace, w/ some rotation of the last 3. If they kept a 6th receiver for depth or special teams I’m hoping it’d be him over maybe Baker or Nance.

It's true what they say...Even the NFL's Big Wigs hate the Steelers. On the plus side, I can now tell my future grand kids about Hines Ward and how the NFL made rules because of him. Roger Goodell, you make me sick.

I think you're dead on...

As you seem to be with most of the younger player talk. He seems like a practice squad guy for a year or maybe two. I think we’ll see him down the road, but you never know.
I know you’re a Yankees fan, as am I. Did you see we drafted Pat White? Yes, that Pat White. West Virginia QB/ Miami Dolphins WR?QB. I guess he was a major baseballer in high school, he was drafted before going to WVU. He’ll never play a game in pinstripes, even minors, but an interesting move, I guess. Sometimes I think the front office overlooks the draft, as I think they overlook player development, but I guess we can’t all be the Pittsburgh Steelers, right?

I did

That guy is one helluva athlete, but yea I wish the Yankees would be more like the Steelers. I’m tired of all the all stars (excluding Tex) that come along and usually fall flat on their faces. By the sounds of it the kid the Yankees got in round 1 this year is pretty good, some I’m hoping he has success in the organization.
