Karma is a b@#$%
My days in college were a great time. I ended up spending a majority of my drinking and sports watching with fellow Steelers fans.
However my first dorm room mate was a Ravens fan.
Alas, it is true, I lived with the hated enemy (worst yet I went to school in Cincinnati, made cheap tickets though, then the Bengals got good).
Despite our differences we became fast friends and I would describe our relationship as akin to Jacko and Bill Simmons (though when alcohol became involved it was not as good natured).
Now that Ben is being accused of sexual assault a great fear is climbing up my spine and striking at my Steeler soul. Did Karma cause this?
I know I am not the only Steeler fan that has laughed and pointed, almost too gleefully, at the legal troubles of the Bengals and Ravens in the past. Now that a prominent Steeler is at the other end of the law --plus ESPN's refusal to report it, thanks WWL, way to make is seem like there is collusion-- I feel as though the Football Gods have smote me for my insolence.
Whether the charges are true or false, dismissed or settled, Steelers fans will have to carry this burden like a bag of bricks.
Perhaps we should learn from this and the next time a team, let's say the hated Cowboys, descend into the media abyss that is legal allegation and speculation we will take the high road and not resort to such attacks as we did against the Bengals and Ravens.

I learned to speak a little bit or moron living near Ravens fans. Let me see if I can translate for you.
“Krama did this to you guys because you make fun of other teams for their troubles. Now people will say that you have a rapist on your team. That’s fair to me. Tom Brady is a bitch.”
I hope I translated that perfectly.

The Steelers
are STILL a spotless organization.
Again- any moron can file a civil suit saying anything they want/ It all means ZERO. Just talk. Period.
The Steelers STILL refuse to sign known character-problem guys and guys with criminal history. Emphasis on CRIMINAL history. Since this is a CIVIL suit, Ben will not have a criminal history even if he were to lose at trial(which he won’t).
Karma? No.
Bullsh*t? Yes.

all I am saying is all those snide comments I made about the Bengals and Ravens and their players’s legal troubles are coming home to roost.

Upon moving to AL, I let my wife decide who she would root for. After one day at a new job full of Bama fans, she met me at the door with a hearty cry of "WAR EAGLE"

Well, I am guilty of Karma then
I live in Delaware and am constantly tortured by Joe Flacco fans, because he went to University of Delaware. So I have said a few things about Ray Lewis and his band of thugs, sorry folks. It all is in good fun.
I really think this case, however, is a clear attempt to make money. You can look at my previous comments on the “Open Invitation” thread if you want as being a female, I actually outlined why I don’t believe this girl. I am female and I truly think this story is a load of crap. It just doesn’t make any sense at all.
Honestly, if I thought this was for real, I would be very disappointed and ashamed of Ben. Right now, I feel bad for him. Women like her make it more difficult for someone that makes a legit accusation.

It's all a wash
It’s just natural that fans trash talk other fans and their teams. I have no regrets bashing the Bengals a few years back for the 9 or 10 players they had in and out of jail, and I’ll continue to stand by that fact.

agreed
how many people still say ray lewis is a murderer though he was never proven to be.
looks like were gonna carry the same burden.
by sparco on Jul 23, 2009 11:27 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Nope-
Someone definitely got stabbed and died as a result of the actions by someone in Ray Lewis’ entourage that night. Lewis was jailed and prosecuted for refusing to talk about those events. Although i don’t know if he actually stabbed the guy, he STILL protected a murderer and refused(for a while) to help police solve the crime.
So………Lewis unquestionably took a criminal part in an undisputed crime.
Ben, on the other hand, has done NOTHING other than be accused by a potential psychopathic liar and gold-digger. Since ZERO criminal charges are pending, this is the equivalent of my saying that Joe Flacco’s Unibrow caused the ongoing econimc hardship in America: UN-EFFING-SUPPORTABLE.
Geesh…….who are all these new “Steelers fans” who are so ready to abandon Ben and find him guilty?
I wonder…..
by tobiathan on Jul 23, 2009 12:05 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
im not finding him guilty, and im hoping he is not. im just stating the fact that no matter the outcome, hes gonna be labeled a rapist and were gonna have to fight people about it.
i have no opinion on his guilt/innocence because i am neither a 1) lawyer 2) judge 3) jury 4) or anyone in that hotel room/hotel. so therefore and presumption by me to her level of insanity, gold-digging ness, or whether or not she said yay or nay would be misinformed.

As a Steeler fan
I was always bothered by the ‘murderin Ray’ comments. That man would walk into stadiums and people would hurl rasist comments at him and call him a murderer. This I found dispicable. I don’t get how some people can call themselves football fans and have so much hate. With that said, I hope Ben has a strong support system to help him through his crisis. Like Lewis I hope he finds the best medicine in winning and ultimately in growing as a person.

Sorry You Are Bothered
by the “murderin’ Ray” comments jglo. Also sorry 3 lost souls have rec’ed your comments. I feel sorry for that. You are entitled to your opinion. So are the lost souls who rec’ed you. I respect Ray Lewis as a football player and a team leader. As a human being he is lacking and deserving of the “murderin’ Ray” moniker.
Tell me jglo, how would you feel if your brother was murdered by a group of rich gun and knife toting hoodlums? Because they have unlimited monetary funds they were able to hire good lawyers and beat the rap. How would you feel if the ring leader who was there and knew what happened decided to maintain his street cred by giving false info on the murder to the police? Ray was there and he saw/knew what happened and possibly did the crime. He just didn’t want to be seen as a narc. He clammed up and ruined the investigation. A murderer is on the loose. Hope he is not on the loose in your town in your neighborhood. That would bother me, not calling OJ, Ray or Robert Blake what they are…

There are a few names you can call Ray
Blow hard,
loudmouth
maybe even overated
but a murderer, he was never proven to be. Though he annoys me to no end, I see a man who made some bad decisions and is now trying to live his life with purpose and dignity.

you’d think twice too before running your mouth when the dudes your about to put away have long memories and roam your neighborhood. ray bought time and held out for his lawyer while atlanta cops were probably trying to ram rod an investigation. he would lose either way and o his lawyers credit ray walked the tight rope to freedom.

I agree
I actually found this site, because I was looking for a picture someone mentioned at work. It was a dead bird (sorry ravens) by the side of a road with a SUV that had the Steelers logo driving towards Tampa.
It was particularly funny because I happen to own a similar style car in a different color. I taped it to the fridge. I honestly don’t know enough about Ray Lewis to have a serious opinion on it.
Besides our defense guys don’t exactly look like angels-but I like them anyway.
