Jim Johnson passes away at age 68
One of the great defensive masterminds was lost today amid the Farve-watch and the fact that Farve isn't coming back. constructing a defense that worked liked DIck LeBeau's defenses in the fact that blitzses came form everywhere but Johnson created his confusion for the 4-3 not the zone-blitzing 3-4 of LeBeau system. During his ten year tenure as the Defensive coordinator fo the Eagles the Eagles made the Playoffs 5 times going to four-straight NFC Championship games and one more NFC Championship game last year losing to the Cards with one Super Bowl appearance and produced 26 pro-bowlers and had a ten year total of 390 sacks. He is survied by his wife two children and four grandchildren.

wow
it’s just embarrassing that you don’t hear about a thing like this because of the media on its knees for favre. without jim johnson there’s no way in hell philly makes it to the NFCCG, let alone the playoffs. the man is the equivalent of dick lebeau for the 4-3.

On the whole favre debacle, I think they should ban him from the NFL now. Seriously, you should have seen all the hoopla that was going on over at the Daily Norseman for the past two months. Now they ALL hate favre. Hilarious, but kinda sad at the same time. I sincerely hope we never hear Brett “diva” Favre’s name again.
Thank you drive through...

It’s true, tdp…..guy was a helluva coach.
Credit where it's due
No doubt about Johnsons’s abliity, and he certainly will be missed…I mean he provided the Steelers with some pretty tough games, and I appreciated that (except when the Ravens won).
Let’s just leave Brett Favre out of this discussion. Hey, he played the game exceptionally well. Maybe he’s having trouble getting it out of his system…I don’t know. The “debacle” in this has been created more by the news media than anyone else.
