BigBlueShoe eats crow
It's boring off season as usual. So I decided to look through some archives and came up with this article. It's called "A Commentary on Ben Roethlisberger's Stupidity", located at Colts' SBnation blog and was written in 2006 by BigBlueShoe after Big Ben's motorcycle accident.

Apparently this "BigBlueShoe" dude changed his mind in 3 years
http://www.behindthesteelcurtain.com/2008/11/5/654251/ask-bigblueshoe-week-ten#9846716
as he writes in week 10 of 2008:
"I’d take Ben Roethlisberger and Peyton Manning over any of the top 5 passers, statistically, in the league right now. All the real star players in the NFL have struggled this season because of injury."
Is it possible to let him know somehow - to leave a comment on his original article stating that he's enjoying eating crow :)
P.S. By no means this post means disrespect to Colts, Manning or BigBlueShoe.

hehe
He does a good job. But believe me, me and others ragged on him as hard as one can about the comments that Ben should have been cut by the Steelers for the ’cycle incident.

Dont see you around as much anymore ; )
I’ll agree that Id never support riding a motorbike without a helmet….being on those things makes you vulnerable enough, I have a motorbike myself and cars have little respect for your space
However I’d never cut him. Freak accident, and his character speaks for itself. Im pretty sure BBS would take back his words about wanting to release Manning if it actually happened

Eh, at least he has come around unlike the rest of the gerbils who think Ben is still a game manager.
The only managing Ben does is that he manages to win games. - chewiesteeler
Roethlisberger
Um, who are these idiots? I mean, Ben isn’t in Manning or Brady territory, but he is certainly in McNabb, Palmer, Favre, Rivers, Eli territory. For me personally, right now it is Manning, Brady, Roethlisberger, with McNabb, Palmer, and Ryan filling out the top 6.

Putting Ben is Rivers territory is harsh, man.

Well
I consider him better than Rivers.

Untill McNabb, Palmer, or Rivers have a ring let a lone 2 rings they cannot really be considered in the same class as Ben. You can say what you want about Ben in SB XL, but he still was HUGE in XLIII.

Just kidding. I’m flattered that someone cares enough to dig into the archives and pull up my opinions. I very seriously am flattered.
However, I shall remind all of you that the head writer of this very Steelers blog shared my opinion of Ben after the 2006 season, which was a lost year due in large part to Ben’s stupidity with a motorcycle. Ben was looking like he was on the outs in Pittsburgh until a new coach and new offensive system (one that mirrors what the Colts do) came into town.
The results speak for themselves.
So, context is everything. It took Ben a few years, but he has earned his contract. And I, clearly, was wrong.

It takes a big man...
And you’re right: lot’s of people who are on the Ben bandwagon were not after that terrible 06 campaign. At that time, Ben’s resume was not what it is today: he had a great rookie season as a game manager, a very solid second season with a phenomenal playoff perofrmance, and then a bonehead move of epic proportion followed by an injury filled, less than stellar 06 campaign.
Needless to say, he has proven a thing or two since then. Some historical figure once said (don’t ask me who)“The mark of a truly intelligent man is admiting when he is wrong.” You, sir, have earned that mark.

Well
Don’t go so far as calling me “intelligent.” I picked the Colts to play the Panthers in last year’s Super Bowl.

LOL!
At least the teams you picked made the playoffs! I saw plenty of “experts” picking teams such as Dallas, Jacksonville, and New England to make the Super Bowl. XD

hey man
saw your profile and that you’re deciding between colleges. I went to Penn and would love to talk to you about it and answer any questions you might have. Cheers dude. Good luck and enjoy the summer before your senior year.

Thanks!
I’ve noticed that financial aid for top- tier schools is incredible. For example, Priceton will pay your entire tuition and 1/2 of your room and board if you fall into 80-120K income bracket. It’s very good at Penn, too. Hopefullt the recession won’t mess that up too much. My mom is a French professor at Lehigh U, so I get half of Lehigh’s tuition(about 20K) off of the cost of whatever college I choose to attend. Law school is a different story, though, but that’ll only last two years.
Anyway, Penn seems like a great school, but I live in Allentown, a rather noisy city of 106,000 people, and the urban surroundings of Philadelphia are less appealing than Ithaca and Bethlehem where Cornell and Lehigh are located. Philly has its charm, though.
I’m taking six AP classes next year, so enjoying my summer will probably end when I return from France and am faced with the reality of memorizing the chemical symbol for dihydrogen phosphate, responding to passages from “A Brave New World”, and band camp!

That was a bonehead move, and with his cocky attitude, it was easy to wonder if the kid would ever grow up. The veteran’s didn’t listen to him and he was a jerk in person, there was a lot to pick at.
Fortunately for the Steelers he wised up and is a good leader, and he hasn’t made the news for stupid things, so I’m happy.
