Vote Steelers for America's Team!
They are once again debating who is the most loved team. Lets set the bar so high they'll quit arguing. Everyone vote!
I do like that James Walker was chosen to weigh in on behalf of the Steelers. Here's a quote from the article.
More Hardware Gives Steelers The Edge
By James Walker
In this historic period of great change, it is time that NFL Nation reconsiders its options.
And we should start by giving the Pittsburgh Steelers the label of "America's Team."
The current version -- the Dallas Cowboys -- no longer deserves this distinguished title. During their term in office, they've made horrible decisions, overspent the annual fiscal budgets and grossly underperformed (zero playoff victories since 1996)........

wow!
We have 48% of the votes with 18,659 total votes! I think we got it!
Thank you drive through...
oh shit
I messed up…the 48% was ‘nobody is americas team’. We have 12% with the Cowgirls having 23%…
WTF?!?!?
Thank you drive through...
Garbage poll
I don’t even know what this means. Technically, Green Bay should be America’s Team since more Americans own a piece of the Packers then any other team.
In any case, I don’t want the Steelers to be America’s Team. Much of America is not like Pittsburgh. Americans love reality TV. Americans are over the top. America hogs the limelight. Americans spend more than they can/should. Americans love drama. Americans are fickle. Simply put, America is the Dallas Cowboys and the Cowboys are America’s Team.

Pete Rozelle coined the phrase America's team in the 70's...
..and was looking for a franchise to receive it.
This was during the Steel Curtain dynasty, and he offered it to Mr Rooney.
The Chief responded that the Steelers didn’t want it. “We’re Pittsburgh’s team,” he said.
If it was good enough for Mr Rooney, it’s good enough for me.

We're definately not "America's Team"
We’re Pittsburgh’s team. We have too many enemies across this great land of ours to truly be America’s Team.
Everybody north of Conn. hates us due to their Patriot lineage.
We’ve been hated on by the Raider nation of the west coast since the ’70’s.
We aren’t recieved very well in states like Ohio, Texas, Tennessee, Florida, etc.
I’d rather just be Pittsburgh’s team.
Deeming us “America’s Team” would just mean we have the most fairweather bandwagon riding fans.
And honestly, I’m ok with letting Dallas keep that honor.
I've only been to Pittsburgh once for 20 min.
And I’ve been a fan for 30+ years.
Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile - Albert Einstein.
"America's Team" is a garbage title.
I sure don’t want it for the Steelers! We were offered the title back in the day and the Roons passed on it, for good reason.
The very existence of flamethrowers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

America's Team
I was born in the Dominican republic, raised in Newark(N.J. That is) and now live in Houston, TX…. But MY Team is The Six Times World Champions Steeeeeeeeelerssssssssssssss. We do not have to be nominated America’s Team, our record speak for itself. Steelers are the working class team. Let the cow(boys)girls continue to believe that they are america’s darling and let us continue to pile on the hardware while they(cowboys) contnue to overspend their way into defeat and embarrassment. What's so bad about bandwagons?
I just do not understand why people always dump on bandwagons. I’ve lived around the world and I am always recruiting new Steelers fans. I continually tell people we have plenty of room on our bandwagon. Come on aboard! Many of them jump on the wagon and stay for life. What is wrong with that?
Another thing I do not undeerstand is the aversion to being associated with America’s Team. Sure, it’s a Cowboys title, cheesy and ridiculous, just like them. But think about it. Pittsburgh IS America. We are accustomed to being first and the best at everything. We are SO much better than third world hell holes like Baltimore or Cleveland. We go into every endeavor expecting to win and the rest of the world is insanely jealous of what we have. What is the difference? (Just kidding, folks. Let me have some fun!)
