Player you hated most in the NFL-mine, Cliff Harris
This is sort of an extension of the fanpost put up by Steeler_ "Top Five NFL Players I'd Like to Punch in the Face"-props to Steeler_
My all time most hated player is Cliff Harris. How could anyone forget his mocking of an injured Roy Gerela after missing that field goal in the third quarter of SB X. It's amazing Lambert wasn't thrown out of the game or hit with an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for his reaction (tossed Cliffy around like rag doll until another Cowboy whisked away from danger). Lambert's actions changed that game and the Steelers played like a different team in the fourth quarter.
Cliffy also had a part (along with Larry Cole) in knocking Bradshaw sensless on the bomb to Swann that won the game.
All in all he was a good safety, but wasn't smart enough to keep his mouth shut, and he paid for it.

Michael Vick
Mostly because he was a terrible QB and everyone tried to argue he had a great arm. Great athlete? Yes. Good QB? No, not even average.
Then the dog-fighting ring just added to my hate.
Do you really hate him as a football player?
I have NO PROBLEM with people who hate him for the dog fighting (even though I don’t have any ill will toward him for it). I also understand why people would call him “over rated” as a football player. But HATE him…….I just don’t see it. And he was at LEAST average as a QB, IMO a little better than average. But hey, it’s just my opinion, that’s the reason we’re all here, to chime in with our two cents.
To each his own I suppose
I’m just not a fan of QBs who think run first before they think pass. its always been a peeve of mine. I honestly could not pick someone I disliked more that has ever put on an NFL jersey, including any Raven or Patriot.

About that
Vick gets 23 months for killing dogs and Donte Stallworth gets 30 days for killing a man.

Agreed
I never could say I hated Michael Vick. Its not dog fighting that got him in trouble, it was illegal gambling. The state just wants a piece of the money.
I’m in Peru and there is dog fighting and cock fighting here legalized. They eat guinea pigs and cats in the mountains. Yeah his operation was inhumane no question there, but its not so outrageous that I’m gonna hate him forever. And he was entertaining to watch play, albeit not very good in the W-L column.
Vicks ok in my book.
They eat guinea pigs and cats in the mountains?
I didn’t know they had Chinese restaurants in Peru!

Scott Norwood; He’s single-handily crushed the economy of all of Western New York; albeit not on purpose.

Tom Brady
Ignoring stats. Im not saying this as anything from him as a player. Grew up around him. Evil person. Man is just cruel and loves to laugh at other people who are in bad situations. Not a good guy.
like when he ran up and yelled at anthony smith after the guarantee?
not that don’t blame brady for being annoyed by the young safety running his mouth, but I thought the way superboy ran up to smith after scoring and yelling at him (swearing from a report on the field) was very classless. At least it was classless for the so-called best QB in the league having the best season ever by a QB. I would have thought he wouldn’t stoop to that level, but he did.
Also, it was clear by the plays and the comments afterward that the coach also took pride in embarrassing the mouthy young smith. Again classless, at least for his supposed level.
I’d LOVE to hear some examples from you since I really hate brady as well.
"It was an attrition football game and you know we like that."
First there was the very public laugh when asked if the Giants could keep his team under 17 in the SB two years ago.
I also heard of stories (dont quote me, haha) where in high school he would stand over injured players and taunt them.

I just want revenge someday. One win in 2004 regular season doesn't cut it.

The Snake & Hollywood
Don’t know if I hated Kenny “The Snake” Stabler but I feared him. He was able to run around and make plays against the greatest defense of all time, “The Steel Curtain.” He even beat us a bunch and was the QB I feared most growing up. Sort of like a preamble to Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. I remember in the waning moments of the “Immaculate Reception” game with the Steelers nursing a 6-0 lead it was The Snake (who had come off the bench earlier) who scrambled for a 35 yard 4th quarter TD run to put the Raiders up 7-6 and set the stage for Franco’s miracle.
As a 13 year old kid I definitely hated Thomas “Hollywood” Henderson. He talked major smack on Terry Bradshaw and my beloved Steelers in the days leading up to XIII. He even accused Bradshaw of not being able to spell cat of you spotted him the c and the a. He then proceeded to pin Brad’s arms back and strip him of the ball allowing Mike Hegman to score a TD and give Dallas a 14-7 lead in XIII. I remember Brad was shaken up at the time and his return was questionable for a moment or two. It was with relief and revenge that I enjoyed hearing Henderson sat at his locker sobbing after he lost XIII to the man that couldn’t spell cat. Bradshaw sure could spell win though!
When You Run The Ball Good Things Happen
just saw that play this weekend
young Steelers fans, we would have been pooping our pantalones if that went down in the Superbowl nowadays! Terry was mugged for 7 and then the announcers speculated that he might not be back. Not fun. One of many turnovers in the first half.

Old school and New School
Hollywood Henderson in the old school catagory
Phillip Rivers in the new school category. common theme neither can beat the Steelers but talk smack at all times
Terrell Owens
Knows nothing about teamwork in a league that values and rewards teamwork above all else. It’s a shame…the guy is (or at least was) talented, but can’t see past his own reflection in the mirror.

5 total TDs in his career
3 tightend set and the tub of lard runs right past Figures, wide open Touchdown and then later Tim McKyer plays matadore defense on Tony Martin. Ole’ throw the game away.

Tony Romo
Seems like this guy flies by the seat of his pants, lacks talent in most areas, and gets way too much praise from people for never being successful. He’s also the QB for the Cowboys.
He’s got potential to lead his team to at least a play off win, but that’s not gonna happen until he gets some maturity. I’ll always enjoy seeing him blow it in the playoffs.
I can’t stand his face, honestly.
To quote Collinsworth from Madden 09 commentary, "He looks like ‘Aw shucks’. "
When I say who dey, you say we dey. @ChrisFAbbott
I too have hated all of the above for a long time and for all of the valid reasons listed...
but currently there can be no one more hated than Brady, unless it’s Goodell himself. I mean let’s just make up some more ridiculous rules especially for this freakin tool. Here’s betting that the golden boy won’t have as much success against us moving forward too…it’ll be harder without tape.
Although he was a member of my loved Broncos
Bill Romanowski. He’s a huge pile of junk and was almost worthless. His skill was abundant, but his attitude sucked. He’s spit in peoples faces, made low blows (literally), made cheap shots on guys. He’s a piece of crap.
Peyton Hillis is also referred to in early Greek mythology by his other names such as Zeus or Poseidon.
play and press over kill
Play: I respect Brady, but I hate Brady. He is from that team up north, and beat the Buckeyes. Then he comes out of no where as a 6th round pick to lead the Pats to so many wins over the Steelers…He’s evil I tell you:)
Press over kill: Farve! I never hated the guy until the press kept going on and on about him. Please retire with Madden, and ride off to some mountain range to the west.
Still Tom Brady
I lost most of my respect for him when he laughed at how Giants fans said his precious offense would score more than 17 points. Everyone knows how that panned out
It may not be all him, the media loves to blow everything Tom Brady related up to ridiculous proportions, but he puts himself in those situations.
Not discounting his ability to play football, he worked damn hard to get to where he is and I respect him for that, but as a person, I find him arrogant and cocky
Bleeding Black and Gold.....forever
Plaxico
I don’t even want to get started on him.
I can't believe nobody has done him yet...
Lendale White!!!!!
Seriously, target him, maul him, make him wish he never even SAW a Terrible Towel!!
Thank you drive through...
Anyone on the Patriots
Indeed, can I just hate a coach instead? Bill Belichick is the kind of scum you keep trying to scrape off your brand new shoes but it just won’t come off.
i always hated vinny “no testes”verdes when he was with the browns. I don’t know why? I hate ray lewis and his antics before, during and after the game. I don’t respect him, never had and never will. He’s lucky to still be playing after that whole post super bowl fiasco back in ‘00. I can’t hate manning or brady because they are great at what they do and yes they have beaten us (well, brady moreso than manning) but it’s hard to hate when you have respect, I guess is what I’m trying to say. I hated Chris Carter and his constant taunting and whining when he played, good receiver but a bad attitude. If I think of any more I will post but this is it for now…nice thread!
Hmm...
Lets see here. I’m inclined to just go with the Neil O’ Donnell / Larry Brown (which side you look at is up to you) as that SB was totally winnable and went up in smoke.
Brett Favre actually almost makes this slot being such an annoying ass over the last 3 offseasons…
I’m going to go with a broad general one here: Any early draft pick that holds out like an asshole. For instance Jasuckus Russell. I mean you are about to make a pile of money, more than 50 average americans will see in their lifetime combined, and you want more. And you’ve proven nothing.
Hell all rookies that hold out should just get sent to the new UFL. Simple as that. Fuck them. It pisses me off. Pay scale please.

+ 1 million
Its insane. And then you have veterans who got paid bugger all to start with, and then they prove themselves to be very good, and then dont even get rewarded because everyone seems to think they only have 1 or 2 years left in them
Rookie Pay Scale has to be implented. Its getting insane. Sure Matt Ryan looks like he may be worth that 72 mill contract, but for every one of him, there are about 100 others who blew it

I have a couple
Michael Vick – nothing to do with dog fighting/gambling…i couldn’t stand how so many people thought he was so good. great athlete, sure…but he was NOT a good qb. shoulda been a wideout or slash kinda guy.
Shawne Merriman – busted for steroids + stupid haircut + excessive tattoos + retarded dance = DOUCHEBAG!!
Why should I change my name? He's the one that sucks!
