I'm not gonna lie...
I love the way Tomlin does business. He said if I comment on Vick, I have to comment on Plax (paraphrasing), but how great is that? NO DRAMA ALLOWED. If he refuses comment, and is consistent about not commenting, the questions will go away. Vick… ahh, I dunno. I’m all for him getting a second chance, and personally feel we’re the best place for it… but who am I? Just a guy with a keyboard who is literate (but if the number of those continue to go down, I’m a genious!).
This was Tomlin’s way of saying my comment is no comment. Leaves the door open, but doesn’t invite him in.
when Coach T. says this I hear
If we feel that there is a need for a player like him in the Steelers Organization we, the coaches and front office staff, will honor our responsiblility to the owners, players and fans of this great organization to weigh the costs and benefits of having this player on this team and take the appropriate action.

Dictionary says ...
Main Entry: due diligence
Function: noun
Date: 1903
1 : the care that a reasonable person exercises under the circumstances to avoid harm to other persons or their property
2 : research and analysis of a company or organization done in preparation for a business transaction (as a corporate merger or purchase of securities)
Generally speaking, it has to with critically thinking through an issue to make sure the correct decision is taken from a carefully thought position, knowing all facts, etc; rather than taking a decision from an assumption-based, willy-nilly perspective.
